Our Mini Falcons Camp focuses on teaching the basics of the sport through fun drills and games.  It is our goal to create a positive, encouraging environment that will help young boys and girls learn and love the game of field hockey.

Campers are divided into groups based on their age and ability levels.  Each camper will be assigned a team with a coach that will be with them for the entire week.

Most staff members are current Messiah field hockey players and are chosen on the basis of their ability to teach, demonstrate, and be enthusiastic. Our coach-to-player ratio is better than 1:9 and all staff must be committed to high moral and ethical standards.

COVID POLICY:

All campers are asked to not attend if they are exposed to COVID within 3-5 days prior to camp. If any campers begin to develop symptoms while at camp, we have the capability to administer a rapid antigen test, however parental consent must be obtained to administer a test.  A parent may also choose to come and pickup his/her camper if they choose to not test for COVID. 

We ask campers to practice healthy hand washing and cough hygiene practices.

General Information

Daily Check-in & Dismissal

• Each day, campers will check-in with their designated coach at Anderson Field, which is a short walk from the Starry parking lot.
  
• Campers will be dismissed from Anderson Field by their designated coach at the conclusion of each session.
• Campers will be released ONLY to those individuals who have been designated as “permitted to pick-up campers” during the online registration process.  Therefore, if an individual’s name is not on the list, they will not be permitted to leave with the camper.  

Schedule (Monday-Friday):                                 

1. Footwear: Turf shoes or sneakers are appropriate for the turf.  Molded cleats are not allowed to be worn on the turf.
2. Stick, mouth guard, and shin guards are required. Protective eye wear (meets ASTM F2713 standard) is not require.
3. Water bottle or small container that can be refilled throughout the session.  Please label the water bottles with your camper's name.
4. A backpack or small athletic bag to carry extra shoes, sunscreen, water bottle, snack, etc.
5. Do not bring a hockey ball. We will provide them.

Inclement Weather:
We will hold Mini Falcons Camp rain or shine. In the event of inclement (thunder/lightning) weather during drop-off or pick-up, staff members will direct you to the correct location.

Please check your email regularly as this is our primary way to communicate. Any additional information that we need to convey as the camp draws closer will be passed on to you via the e-mail address that you supplied when you registered for camp. Please make it a habit to check your e-mail daily, this will eliminate any confusion and or miscommunication.

*Our website vendor has now added a $3 service fee for every transaction which accounts for the following:
        --$3 to pay in full, $6 to pay a deposit and remaining balance
        --If you sign up multiple campers at the same time you only pay $3 service fee per transaction for one camper.
