“Today’s Youth, Tomorrow’s Leaders”

--American Youth Football

2005 brought us the start of a much needed youth football & cheering program in the town of Tyngsboro.  The Tyngsboro Youth Football & Cheerleading (TYFC) program had a very successful inaugural season.    Our 4 football/cheer teams showed true enthusiasm, sportsmanship, teamwork and dedication.

On August 1st, 2006 a new season of youth football and cheerleading began in Tyngsboro under a new national league, the NFL-endorsed American Youth Football (AYF) organization ( www.americanyouthfootball.com ).  Our league expanded to 6 football teams and 5 cheering teams.    Our Jr. Midget cheerleaders made it as far as the regionals in Tyngsboro's very first year ever in competitive cheerleading.    Our Jr. Pee Wee Red Football team advanced to our conferences playoffs.

TYFC completed it's 2007 (third) season with 6 football and cheerleading teams.    The Jr. Midget football team coached by Mike Flanagan made it into the first round of the AYF, Central Mass conference play-off's.    The Jr. Midget Cheerleading team advanced to the American Youth Cheeleading National competition in Florida and brought home a 3rd place trophy!

History was made in the 2008 Season, TYFC's 4th, with all of our eligible football teams making it to round 2 of the Central Mass conference play-offs!  Our Senior Mites and Pee Wee teams advanced to the Super Bowl and the Sr. Mites won their Division Super Bowl Title!     Our two eligible cheer teams also advanced to Regional competition in Rhode Island and made us very proud!
TYFC celebrated it's 5th Anniversary in 2009.   TYFC became an All-American association with football teams that are grade based and where there are no weight restrictions, therefore allowing any child to play and learn the game of football!   It was another very exciting year for both our football and cheer teams!   Our U10 Cheer team advanced to the New England Regionals in Connecticut.  In football our 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th grade teams advancing to the Central Mass Play-off's.   Our 5th and 7th Grade teams made it through to the Central Mass Super Bowl.  Our 5th Grade Football team won the Central Mass SuperBowl, advanced to the New England Regionals and came away with the victory which qualified them for the Nationals in Florida!   The team did Tyngsboro proud in Florida, winning their first game to advance to the finals.   The team lost the final game to a very tough Florida team in a defensive battle with the final score of 0-6 leaving them 2nd in the nation for the 5th Grade All-American Division!

A successful sixth season was had by all nine TYFC teams in 2010!   Our middle-school chear team placed in the Central Mass Locals and earned themselves a trip to the New England Regionals in Manchester.    4 of the 5 eligible football teams advanced to the Central Mass Play-off's.   Our 6th Grade Football team won the Central Mass Super Bowl; defeated a very tough Walpole, MA team to earn the title Of AYF Mass State Champs.  This advanced them to the New England Semi-Regionals where they defeated Pelham/Windham, which led them to an exciting re-match of the 2009 New England Regionals Finals against East Haven.   East Haven took the title this year, but  the two teams gave us a great game!    We couldn't be more proud of all of the boys and girls in our program!

Lucky 7 was the theme of our 7th season in 2011!    4 of the 5 eligible football teams advanced into the Central Mass Play-offs again!   Our 5th and 7th Grade teams then advanced to the Central Mass Superbowl!    The 7th Grade team captured the Central Mass Superbowl Title against an impressive Charlton/Dudley team and advanced to the Mass State champion game against Framingham.   But it wasn't to be for our 7th grade team and they fell short to Framingham, ending their impressive season.   All 3 of our eligible cheer teams placed in our Local Competition with our U10 team placing 3rd and both our U12 and U13 teams earning 1st place finishes!   This advanced all 3 teams to the AYC New England Regionals.  (The first time in TYFC history that all 3 cheer teams made it to the New Englands!)     All 3 teams did fantastic at the regionals, coming in top 5 of each of their divisions!   Our U13 team earned a 1st place finish which propelled them to a spot at the AYC National competition in Florida!    The U13 Girls, their parents and coaches spent less than 2 weeks in a whirlwind of practices, fundraising, school, work and sleep before embarking on their trip to Nationals.     They proudly came home with a 4th place finish!    This wrapped up another impressive season with our young organization!

With our 8th season we had 3 football teams advance into the Central Mass play-offs once again.  However, all three teams fell short and did not continue on to the Superbowl.  Our cheer squads placed at their locals competition. U12 in 1st place, U10 & U13 in 3rd place and allowed them to advance onto regionals in Rhode Island where the U10 team came in 9th out of 14, the U12 team placed 6th ourt of 12 and the U13 team came in 5th out of 11.  We also had one of our 8th graders, Kyle Laforge qualify for the Central Mass All-Star team at the AYF Nationals which took place in Florida.  Our 8th grade head coach Bill Roderick was also chosen as their offensive coordinator.  Their team voted Kyle as captain and they placed 4th out of 12 teams.

Tyfc's 9th season came with a lot of changes. We had a whole new board step in & take over. Hopefully they will be bringing fresh & new ideas along with them to keep this program moving on. 2013 proved another very successful one for TYFC. Three of our football teams, 5th, 6th & 7th all moved onto the 1st round of playoffs & fought real hard during their games but unfortunately were defeated. We are very proud of their hard work & consider this a huge accomplishment what with our town being smaller than most of our competitors & our teams being low in numbers.  Our "lady tigers" also had a great season. We had all 3 competing teams place in the Local competition in Lowell, Ma, 2nd, 3rd & 3rd which allowed the girls to advance to the Regionals in Connecticut.  We had 2 of our 8th grade boys qualify for the Central Mass All-Star team at the AYF Nationals which took place in Florida in December.  Jackson Roderick, Kyle Corkum & their team finished in 3rd place overall.  TYFC is very proud of the many accomplishments we have had & thank you for your continued support of this program.
