Our 5U Kickers program is a one-of-a-kind soccer and movement skills program that is intended to prepare children to move to the House league in a year.  It is designed for slightly older children, born in 2013 (4 and 5 year-olds).  5U Kickers helps transition players from 4U Kickers to the House league, as well as to introduce new, older players to the game.  4U Kickers is NOT a prerequisite for 5U Kickers.

Professional trainers will run the first part of each session and will focus on skills training.  Players will then be broken into teams and volunteer parent coaches (with assistance from the professional trainers) will run the second part of each session.  The teams will participate in small-sided scrimmages, with a focus on good sportsmanship.  These classes are carefully designed with this specific age and skill level in mind, and are intended to allow children to progress seamlessly to the House league and older GFSC programs.

Spring 2018 Schedule and Fee Information

Our Spring 2018 5U Kickers sessions will be for players born in 2013.  All 5U Kicker sessions will be held at Lockmeade Park on six Tuesdays (2:00-2:50pm), Thursdays (2:00-2:50pm) or Saturdays (at either 9:30-10:20am or 10:45-11:35am).  The Tuesday and Thursday sessions are combined 4U and 5U Kicker classes.  All sessions run for 50 minutes and include frequent water breaks.  

Tuesday sessions (combined 4U/5U):                                 

• April 10th, 17th, 24th
• May 1st, 8th, 15th
• Rain date: May 22nd

Thursday sessions (combined 4U/5U):                                 

• April 12th, 19th, 26th
• May 3rd, 10th, 17th
• Rain date: May 24th

 Saturday sessions (5U):                                

• April 14th, 21st, 28th
• May 5th, 12th, 19th
• Rain date: June 2nd

Uniform/Equipment

All 5U Kickers should wear the same uniform as the older House league players.  This consists of a Great Falls Soccer jersey, black shorts, and blue soccer socks.  These items can be purchased at Sterling Soccer (Route 7 Shopper’s Food Warehouse location).   Players may purchase a new solid blue jersey (either Adidas, which comes in the smaller sizes, or Puma, which comes in larger sizes (our older House players wear Puma jerseys)), or they can continue to wear the GFSC jersey from previous seasons.  Cleats and shin guards are also required and can either be purchased from Sterling Soccer, or at any sporting goods shop.  Sterling Soccer offers a GFSC discount on certain items.  All players must bring a ball (size #3) to each practice, and should always bring a water bottle.
