On-line sign-ups are open for the Napa Cal Ripken & Babe Ruth League 2019 Spring baseball programs. Registration and all league information can be accessed at leagues.bluesombrero.com/napabr for all age groups. New users will need to establish a secure login for on-line registration.

The Cal Ripken-Babe Ruth League has programs for player ages from 4 to 15. The Napa Cal-Ripken-Babe Ruth League is where baseball is being taught the way it is played.

Cal Ripken Rookie and Minor divisions play on 60-foot bases, and the Major Division plays on 70-foot bases. In the Majors Division, pitchers are taught to work from the stretch. Players utilize lead offs and stealing bases. Focus is on preparing players for Tournament/Travel style baseball on longer base pads and real baseball situations.

There is one division in the Babe Ruth League for 13-15 year olds.

A player's league age is based on their age on April 30 of the current year. New registrants to the league will need to provide a birth certificate (or other valid identification) via upload or at the in-person sign-ups that shows the player's birth date at the time of registration. If you are a returning player (either Cal Ripken or Babe Ruth) this is not a requirement.

Tryouts for 11-12 year olds (Major Cal Ripken) and Babe Ruth 13-15 year-olds will be in early February at Silverado Middle School. All players trying out will be placed on teams. Team placement for all other age groups are based on player preference.

Registration fees are as follows:

• T-Ball (ages 4 to 6) - $75

• Rookies (ages 7 to 8 years) - $160

• Minors (ages 9 to 10) - $160

• Majors (ages 11 and 12) - $160

• Babe Ruth (ages 13 - 15) - $225
