Meet Our Staff

We are here to provide you and your family with the best youth volleyball experience possible. We are proud to bring you a group of highly accomplished coaches and administrators whom we invest. Our coaches utilize the strengths of each other by coming alongside one another’s teams. Our coaching staff works together for the betterment of the program, but also for the individual player. This encouraging of our coaches to seek after each other for continuing education is how we grow the game among staff. Read the bios below to learn more about your coach and other leaders in our community.

"Being blessed with the opportunity to work with young athletes everyday"

Bio: Kristin Leggett has been coaching young players since 2010 following a big break from her volleyball life to start a business and a family.  She married following graduating from the University of Cincinnati where she played as a defensive specialist for the Bearcats for four years while completing her degree in Nutrition and Dietetics.  After working with the athletes as a strength and conditioning coach and dietitian, she started her current in- home training and nutrition consulting business and has been owner of this since 1996.  Currently Kristin is the Athletic Director of volleyball for the Cincinnati Trailblazers where she also coaches the Junior Varsity and Varsity squads.  She has also coached for East as a 12’s and 16’s coach, as well as a position and strength coach for the program.  She coaches with the expectation that players want to improve, will put forth effort to do so, and will treat teammates, coaches, refs, and opponents with respect.

Bio: Father of four including triplets. Husband to an incredibly patient lady who has spent her life teaching. His love of volleyball began as a youth on the beaches in Clearwater Florida. Eric started coaching volleyball back in 2006 in the Cincinnati Catholic Youth League. He is a graduate of Xavier University with a B.S. in Physical Education, Adaptive Physical Education, and Health. Eric's teams have won major championships such as the 2018 Nike MEQ and finished in Gold on a consistent basis. This past season was a proud moment in is coaching career as five of his players made their high school varsity programs as freshman.

Bio: Anna started coaching young athletes while she was in college at BGSU 20+ years ago.  She comes to us most recently from coaching at Guardian Angels school in the GCCYS league for the past 5 years. Anna loves coaching the younger players, her passion is ensuring that all girls start their foundation in volleyball with the correct technique and skill set. Anna is married and has a daughter that plays for us at East!  She works in sales, loves her family, and loves to coach and watch volleyball!

Bio: Dan has been playing and coaching volleyball for 30 plus years.  He learned how to play volleyball while stationed in Florida and Southern California during his 23 years in the United States Navy.  He played and coached on numerous base, fleet, and high school teams both overseas and stateside. After he retired from the United States Navy he became an elementary school teacher within the West Clermont School District and has continued coaching both High School and USAV volleyball.

Bio: Carla is married with two beautiful children. She received an Education degree from Wilmington College. Carla has been coaching volleyball since 2008. Her experience includes coahing from 9U through 17U. Currently Carla the Varsity Coach at Western Brown High School and  3rd grade coach at St. Louis. She is also one of our 10U coaches.

2018 Positively Charged Tourney Champs

Bio: Leah comes to us as a veteran Cincy East player. She spent 7 years in the program here at East. Shortly after she began her coaching career mentoring under East staff members Dan Coyne, Carla Fite, and Kristin Leggett. Leah has since taken a Head Coach position for the home school athletic club Trailblazers and will be coaching for Cincy East as well. She also attends the University of Cincinnati. Go BEARCATS!

Bio: Jadyn comes to Cincy East from the northern part of Ohio with an extensive background in modern defensive strategies and player techniques. She broke into volleyball early on playing for Lima Central Catholic Varsity as a Libero along with playing for over six years at the prestigious Grandlake Volleyball Club. Her latest coaching position was with NKYVC. We are now happy to say she is a member of the Cincy East Coaching staff.

2018 3rd Place Division Finish OVR Championships

Bio:  Jay has enjoyed playing competitive indoor and sand volleyball for well over 20 years. He started coaching youth sports in 2010 and jumped at the the opportunity to coach his favorite sport of volleyball in 2015 where he could share his passion and knowledge with the next generation. Jay focused on fundamental skills for 8U through 12U who were just learning the game, and in 2017 he was invited to join Cincy East. At the club level, Jay continues to emphasize the fundamentals, but also introduces a higher-level understanding of the game and how to compete.

Bio: Lauren comes to us from Northwestern Ohio. She grew up on the volleyball court watching her sister Nicole. When it was her turn she starred as an OH for Lima Central Catholic High School and was the Northwest Conference Scholar Athlete of The Year. While there, Lauren spent a lot of her time helping the Big Brothers Big Sisters program. She also played her club ball for Trailblazers VBC and Gold Diggers Volleyball Cub. Lauren has recently graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a degree in Communications and Business Administration.

Bio: Nicole has been coaching for 7 years. She began her coaching career at Positively Charged. Nicole also coached for Amelia High School JV under Cincy East coach Dan Coyne. She is full of energy and very passionate about the sport of volleyball. Nicole likes to have fun and enjoy the game while teaching young people volleyball. She is a big proponent of skills and technique. Watching the player’s progress through the season, seeing them overcome and grow is so rewarding. This keeps her coming back to coach every year.

Playing Highlights

Bio: Born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio. Bella attended Saint Ursula Academy where she played high school volleyball. After her freshman year, she made the decision to exclusively play club volleyball with both Cincy East and Positively Charged for the remainder of high school. Playing club volleyball afforded her the opportunity to assistant coach for Guardian Angels during the school season. After graduating from Saint Ursula, she attended the University of South Carolina where Bella earned a bachelor’s degree in public health. She then returned to Cincinnati and now works at A&A Safety. Since returning to Cincinnati, Bella has coached a team at Guardian Angels for the past two seasons. She truly has a passion for volleyball and finds it very rewarding to see young student athletes whom she has coached excel and learn to enjoy this wonderful sport.

Bio: Savannah played volleyball competitively throughout her school years and club levels year round since the age of nine. After high school she enjoyed participating in competitive sand volleyball leagues. Being a Libero/DS Savannah has extensive experience at the defensive part of the game. Having club and varsity playing level experience to carry over to her teams Savannah always looks forward to her teams being highly competitive. She truly enjoys mentoring young women in a mutual love of the game. Outside of volleyball, she attended University of Cincinnati and became a Certified Dental Assistant in January of 2019!!.

Bio: Steve is starting his time at Cincy East as an assistant coach in our National program. He started playing volleyball for Milford High School from 2007 through 2011. During that time period he also played club for Cincinnati Attack. After high school Steve continued playing club for Bowling Green University beginning in 2011. Now that he has returned to Cincinnati Steve is ready begin coaching.

Bio: Married with 3 kids. Born and raised in Cincinnati. Coaching is a passion of Johnny's. He has been coaching and helping coach volleyball for most of his life. John was a three year starter and captain on The College of Mount Saint Joseph men’s volleyball team. He has also coach in the West Clermont school district and for St. Veronica.

Bio: Angel has been married 25 years to her husband Rob. She has two children. Her son Ethan currently attends Purcell Marian High School. Angel's daughter Adrian is a graduate of Florida State where she played volleyball from 2017-2020. Angel has a B.S. degree in Health Appraisal and Enhancement from Miami University where she enjoyed a much decorated college volleyball career.

Bio: Mike began coaching volleyball in 2016 and hasn’t looked back since. He attended a coaching clinic held by Gold Medal Squared (GMS Volleyball) in 2018 at North Carolina State University to further his knowledge. He also began coaching at Nagel Middle School for the last 2 years. While Mike has learned from some of the best coaches, he also implements his own values and fundamentals of the game while also motivating the athletes and continuing to keep it fun for them. Mike graduated from University of Cincinnati with a business degree. When he is not spending his time on the court, he is spending his time with his family.

Bio:This is Sara’s first year at Cincy East. She has been playing volleyball since the 3rd grade. She went on to play at Elevation Volleyball Club during her four years of playing at McNicholas High School. After high school, she attended Thomas More University where she played 4 year of competitive of NCAA volleyball. During those years, she was named co-captain her senior year and also received the Champion of Character award. After graduating in May of 2020, she graduated with her bachelor’s degree in Sports and Entertainment Marketing and a minor in Business Administration. After college she continued to play competitive sand volleyball, along with coaching sand volleyball clinics. In past years she has coached at Tri-State Elite and was the freshman coach at Campbell County High School. When not coaching she loves spending time with her rescue dog named Tucker!
