US Men's National Team Advisor visits TBU's Academy

TBU welcomed Juan Carlos Michia of the Men's National Team Program to our own Stadium Field at Ed Radice last night. Juan Carlos is the Southeast Region Technical Advisor "TA" and he conducted a Club and Player evaluation of our U13/U14 Development Academy. In speaking with the coaches and the parents he stressed the importance that within an Academy environment it is more training, less games and more meaningful games that count as he seeks to find quality players who have National potential. Over the 10 month season the Academy Program will identify individual players who will be invited to attend small Soccer Clinics both within Florida and Nationally.

No standings are kept in the U13/U14 Academy and he stressed that results do not matter. He remarked that the team had improved since he first saw them play at the beginning of the season and there were several very good players on the roster.

The Academy play their last Southeast game of the calendar year on Saturday 23rd November at IMG. They will also be taking part in a Development Academy Showcase at Disney Wide World of Sports over the holidays.

In January and February 2014 the Academy will only be playing Futsal per National guidelines.
