U17 and U19 Boys Play in the Oak City Friendlies
It was a tough weekend of results for the U17 and U19 boys teams for their first tournament of the season at the Oak City Friendlies this weekend, but it wasn't for a lack of trying.
Both boys teams went winless on the weekend, with the closest game being the U19 boys final match against LASA Lions that ended with a 3-2 scoreline. Goals for the U19 team were scored by Christopher Canuto and Sam Flores, with Flores' goal being assisted by Allan Diaz-Inestroza.
Results aside, it was a great experience for all the players involved as they were able to put themselves at one of the finest facilities in the state at NCFC's WRAL Soccer Complex, and put their talents on display against some of the top teams in the state. College coaches were also ever present at the event looking for the next collegiate star, and a few of our players were even being scouted over the course of the weekend.
We will return back to training this week for the U19's on Wednesday, and the U17's on Saturday as we look to prepare for our next showcase event or tournament that is scheduled for late February and early March of 2019.
We are looking forward to getting back to the training ground with this group of young men and continuing to help build their technique and chemistry as a team.
We would also like to thank all of the parents and supporters that traveled to come and watch these guys compete and play the game they love. Without your support none of this would be possible, so we definitely want to thank each of you.
Please continue to support our players as we take this journey together. There will always be some growing pains and this first tournament was a great opportunity for these players to dive into the deep end and see where the statewide talent level is. Now our coaches and our players will take this information, grow from it, and rise their quality to have a better performance in our 2nd tournament of the season!
Thank you all for your support and we are looking for great Spring season ahead.
