Player Spotlight: Sergio Sanchez

Here we explore a few Q&A's with our players from various high schools and teams throughout our county. 

Today's spotlight features a few questions with St. Pauls High School's Sergio Sanchez.  Sergio is a right back and also captain for his soccer team this season, and has featured on several Elite Academy FC teams in the past (U19 Boys Fall 2019 season).  

What's your favorite music artist?
Eminem

What's your favorite food?
Chicken

What's your favorite hobby other than soccer?
Playing X-box.  

What game?
Cold War

What's your current best grade in school right now?
98, an A (*Team asks "what class") ROTC (*team bursts out laughing) (*Sergio laughs too)

What's your favorite North Carolina University?
Duke

What's your New Year's Resolution for 2021?
To be less stressed and more expressive vocally.

Questions from the Varsity Boys Team

How was it your first year playing on the Varsity team?
It was hard.  I was surrounded by good players who had all been playing for 2 or 3 years, so I was a little intimidated at first.  I realized that I was going to have to catch up to them, but it was good overall.  I learned and I improved and now I'm the captain of the boys varsity team.

How does it feel to be on the varsity team as a 9th grader, and now 4 years later be Captain?
It feels good to make varsity as a freshman, again I was surrounded by some great players.  But it's a honorable thing to be Captain, and me and my co-captain Allan Diaz will be doing everything we can this year to lead our team on the field.
