Park City Baseball will be holding tryouts for its fall season on Monday, August 15 at the Park City High School baseball complex.
Fall ball is a shorter season (six weeks: 8/27 - 10/8, skip Labor Day) and focuses on player development in preparation for the spring competition season. Park City Baseball plans to field 8U-14U teams, and the fall league uses spring 2017 age brackets:
If your player will be 8 on April 30, 2017 s/he qualifies for the fall 8U team, and so on. 8U-10U tryouts will be 4:30-5:30. 11u-14u will be 6:00-7:00. There is no charge for tryouts but registration is required.
Note on fees: Fall fees are expected to be ~ $250 for 8-10U and $350 for 11-14U.
Note on age brackets: Players must try out for their age brackets. A player who is 10 on April 30, 2017 should try out for the 10U team. The only exception to this rule is if the parents/player opt to try out for the team that coincides with the player's grade: For example, a 4th grader will still be 9 on April 30,2017 (which places him in the 9U division) but s/he would like to try out for the 10U team because that is where the majority of the 4th graders are playing.
Note on 12U Cooperstown Program: Please note that if your player is a rising 12u (i.e. s/he will be 12 on April 30, 2017) and wishes to participate in the spring/summer 2017 12u Cooperstown Program, s/he must attend fall tryouts. The club needs to put together this team now in order to commit to the trip next summer. In 2015 and 2016 the 12U Cooperstown Program included traveling to Cooperstown Dreams Park for a week-long baseball tourney camp and participating in the Triple Crown World Series here in summit county. A significant time/financial commitment is required and all players must play in the regular spring season with PCB (April - June 2017).
