Blue Sombrero FAQ

With this new system there are bound to be some questions. Here are some of the ones that have been coming up. Hope this helps you as you navigate through this process with us!

Q1: I have a blue sombrero account with the Lake Mills Recreation Department already, would my account be the same?
A1: Each Blue sombrero system is separate so you would need a new account for our programs.

Q2: I received an e-mail that an account had been activated for me, how to I view my account?
A2: If RLAC made an account for you, your password will be the same as your username.  In most cases your username is your last name followed by 1234.

Q3: The class I want to sign up for is not showing up as an available program, can I still sign up for it?
A3: If a class is not showing on your account home page, click the button that says 'more' on the right top corner of the participants box, then click on the program you are looking for and click the 'load more divisions' button on the bottom of the page and the nall programs should show up and you can register from there.

Q4: What if I do not what to pay with my credit card? Can I still use blue sombrero?
A4: Yes, go through the registration process and then sign out without purchasing your cart, you can then drop off cash or check to the office for payment.

Q5: What if I have a credit from a previous class so my total should be adjusted?
A5: Go through the registration process and then sign out without purchasing your cart, then call or e-mail the office so that they can manually change your total in the system. Then you can pay through blue sombrero, or at the center.

Q6: My account information is incorrect, how can I update it?
A6: On the upper right hand side of the page is a gear image, click on that to edit settings, from there you can edit your information and save.

Q7: I am separated from my child's other parent, should we make our own accounts?
A7: No, please make one account per 'family'. The site does not save any financial information.  The way our system works, having multiple accounts for the same children makes the process less efficient and open for mistakes that could be frustrating on all parties. There is a place to add a secondary e-mail address, this should be the other parents address.  

Q8: I forgot my username and password, should I just make a new account?
A8: No, as above, multiple accounts effects the efficiency of the system and opens up situations for mistakes to occur.  If using the website aids to remember your username/password does not work, please contact the center and the staff can help you get into your account again.
