Presidents Message

Welcome to the Mission Bay Youth Baseball (MBYB) website and community.  The purpose of our organization is to focus on the personal growth and development of our children through the great game of baseball, we hope that their experiences here with our coaches, parents, and teammates will help them mature into better adults.

We serve Pacific Beach, Mission Beach, and La Jolla. The families that play here come from the local area. Our players attend schools such as: PB Elementary, Kate Sessions, PBMS, MBHS, BirdRock, Muirlands, LJHS, and private schools such as All Hallows, Evans, Horizon, etc.

All coaches receive professional training to teach at this level.  Many of our coaches have played and/or coached at the High School, Collegiate, and/or Professional level. More importantly, our coaches are typically parents and care deeply about our kids. We have divisions for players ranging in age from 4 to 18 years of age.

MBYB would not be successful without many others contributing including parent volunteers who give countless hours through the board, coaching or helping on teams.  We are also fortunate to have great community financial support from individuals and corporate sponsors who help to make each season possible in operating our leagues.  If you are interested in learning how to Sponsor or contribute to MBYB, I invite you to visit our Sponsors Page or contact me directly.

Every year, it’s worth reminding parents and our young athletes to stay focused on individual accomplishments throughout the season and during games.  It’s sometimes easy, in the moment, to get caught up in the competitiveness of a sport and the outcome of a game rather than the overall accomplishments an individual athlete is making over the season.  As parents, I ask that you please keep this in mind as you are cheering on your child’s great efforts on the field.  You can be of help in reminding your child to do their best and recognizing their individual contributions.

Now lets play ball!
