Loudoun finishes up Preseason Tournament Schedule at Spirit Cup in PA

Loudoun 98B Red finished the Spirit Cup U 15 Championship Flight Bracket A in second position (semi-finalist) with 18 points. 2 wins and 1 loss, 5 goals scored and 3 given up. The boys started strong on Saturday morning with a 2-0 win over SYC Strikers Blue from VA. The Strikers are a VA State Cup Semi-Finalist Team at U13 back in the spring of 2012.

On Saturday afternoon, the team came out on the wrong end of 1-2 loss to NY HOTA Thunder 98 from New York East. A team that was very physical and came out hard from the start. Loudoun had their changes and came back in the second half to tie the game only to give up a goal late in the loss.

Sunday morning the team was up against Auburndale Bayside AV Junior for New York East. We were playing to win and hoping the SYC Strikers could help us with a win ot tie against the HOTA Thunder. (HOTA won and went on to win 2-0 in the final). We give up goal in the first half and did not look into the game. But the second half was all Loudoun and the boys scored 2 goals to dominate the pitch and finish the tournament on a strong note. Feeling all around was this was the boys strongest second half performance in the whole tournament.

No more tournments till YMS in October, training over the next 2 weeks till our CCL games kickoff on Sept 7th and 8th.
