Fulton Youth Soccer

F.A.Q.

When does the season begin and how long will it run?

The spring season begins the first week of May, the fall season the first week of school in September.

When are games?

Games are always on Saturday mornings. Games schedules are distributed during the first night of practice. Please check the appropriate schedule to determine the exact time for your child's game.

Where are the practices and games held?

All games are played at the Don Butler Soccer Park located at 300 Chase Rd., Fulton, NY.  Please follow instructions for parking and watch for children!

When are practices?

Teams have a practice lasting between forty-five minutes and an hour and a half during the week. Practices can be Monday - Thursday and begin as early as 5:00 p.m. and as late as 6:30 p.m.  Your coach chooses the practice time and date.

What equipment does my child need?

Your child will need to have shin guards, a size-4 ball and should have a water bottle or drink at every practice and game.  FYSL provides team shirts.  Cleats are required for all players as they help with traction (especially when the field is wet).  All cleats need to be plastic and not have any cleats/spikes on the toe (unlike some baseball or football cleats). Long hair should be secured only with non-metallic hair elastics. Pierced ears should not have any kind of earring in during games.

I haven't heard from my child(ren)s coach yet.  When will I find out what team my child is on?

Divisional Coordinators hold a coaches meeting about a month before the start of the season. Coaches receive their rosters at this meeting and contact their players shortly thereafter.  You should receive a call from your coach the week before the “Meet the Coaches Night” at beginning of the season.    If by two weeks prior to the start of the season you have not heard from your coach, please contact us to have us verify your registration and inform you of your team assignment.

I have registered late.  How do I know if my child has made it on a team?

We try to get every child that wants to play assigned to a team.  If by one week prior to the start of the season you have not heard from your coach, please contact us to have us verify your registration and inform you of your team assignment.

I want to get more information in real-time - how can I do that?
