In 1955, local leaders in the city of Mesquite decided there was a need for a youth baseball league in Mesquite so they approached 5 upstanding individuals in the community to volunteer to help get the league started. The league had a common goal, to give kids the chance to play the greatest game in the world and through baseball, learn life lessons that they could take with them as the grew into young adults. The first year there were 5 teams, Yankees, Kiwanis, Tigers, Bankers and Builders with around 60-70 kids. Today we are as strong as ever and still have that same goal that this league was built on. To provide organized baseball for our youth in order to
prepare our youth to be better citizens of the community by learning good sportsmanship,
teamwork, loyalty, honesty, courage, and reverence.
MBI is run by a board of 13 volunteers that put in countless hours to have a successful league for the kids. The City of Mesquite Parks and Recreation staffs maintain the fields and facilities and do an outstanding job to make sure our fields are in top playing condition and provide us with anything we need to have a successful program to offer the youth of Mesquite. We are proud to have you as part of our league and if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us
