2016 Raise the Steaks

Gilmanton Youth Organization’s 1st Annual “Raise the Steaks” successfully raises $1,200 for the children of Gilmanton.

The Gilmanton Youth Organization fundraising dinner on Sunday, March 13 at the Gilmanton Winery, saw 52 local supporters enjoy a tremendous steak and potato dinner, replete with locally made Gilmanton Winery wines. Attendees included local educators, entrepreneurs, homemakers, law enforcement, bankers, farmers, construction professionals, and many others.

The dinner successfully raised $1,200, and was considered a notable success, particularly for an inaugural event.

The agenda and speaker presentations were as follows:

Bob McKenna– GYO President

Kevin Martin - Event host & baseball co-coordinator

Jason Reed, Adam Mini, Scott Bartley – GYO board members

Attendees were treated to wines made at the Gilmanton Winery, steaks grilled by winery proprietor Marshall Bishop, as well as delicious dishes and desserts from his wife Sunny and the winery staff. The event included a slide show that showcased recently completed projects at GYO Park, with a raffle and silent auction items generously donated by Dick’s Sporting Goods, Tilton Sports Center, the family of Bill Demers, and Arnie’s of Concord.

The event also reviewed future GYO projects and plans for improving the sports and park facilities, including a new batting cage, security fencing, and playground. In order to obtain these future projects further fundraising is required. GYO hosts many events throughout the year and has recently developed new sponsorship packages. The Gilmanton Youth Organization is a 501c3 and all donations are tax deductible. If interested please contact a GYO Team Member.
