Volunteer Opportunities

Being a non-profit organization, entirely run by volunteers, GYO is truly what you make it. We have plenty of opportunities throughout the year where you can volunteer to help our organization.

We offer various volunteer roles for each GYO activity. Parents are encouraged to be the coach or assistant coach for baseball, softball, t-ball, soccer, and basketball teams. During the baseball/softball season, we also need dugout managers and score keepers for each team.

Another great way to volunteer is by working a shift in the snack shack. The snack shack is great for two reasons: first, it's convenient for families on the run to have a place to get some food, drinks, or snacks. Second, proceeds from the snack shack benefit GYO! For more information about the snack shack, please reach out to Jess Pilkovsky, our Concessions Coordinator.

Throughout the year, we have fundraising events that require many volunteers.
  • Spring: Saturday Baseball, Softball & T-Ball home games at GYO Park
  • Summer: Town of Gilmanton 4th of July Fireworks at Crystal Lake Park (concessions)
  • Summer: Town of Gilmanton 4th of July Parade (concessions)
  • Fall: GYO Park Soccer home games (snack shack volunteers)
  • Late Fall: GYO Soccer Jamboree (snack shack volunteers)

Since we are also in charge of GYO Park maintenance and improvement, we are always looking for folks who are willing to help us maintain the fields, and also help us with special projects when they arise throughout the year. We also hold two community events preparing the park for seasons ahead; Annual Spring Clean Up and the Annual Autumn Shut Down. For more information regarding park maintenance, contact Jay Cuthbert.
