Far Post High School
Soccer League Guidelines
This is a High School outdoor soccer league supporting 2 levels of play, Junior Varsity and Varsity. Junior Varsity being designed as an entry level high school division encouraging the participation of underclassman, U14 and strong U13 players focusing on the growth and continued development of basic and advancing skills necessary for high school level play . Varsity level designed for stronger or upperclassman players looking for comparable competition allowing for the continued development of these teams as well.
The Field:
The field size for High School games are 120 yds long and 80 yds wide (max).
The Markings:
No change from Laws of the Game.
The Goals:
Maximum of 8 feet tall and 8 yards wide.
The Ball:
A size 5 ball is used for High School games.
The Players:
There will be eleven per team on field; one of which is a goalkeeper. 18 maximum on roster (when possible).
Substitutions are on the officials discretion, at halftime and for injuries. Playing time is a minimum of half the time you were present at the game and no player should play more then half until everyone has played at least half.
Player Equipment:
Shoes and shinguards, covered by the socks are mandatory at all practice and game activities. Soft-cleated soccer shoes or tennis shoes. Players must wear a numbered team uniform. Team uniforms must be of matching color.
Duration of Game:
Two 40 minute halves. Halftime break of 5 - 10 minutes.
Season Played:
Girls play in the fall & winter seasons, in the spring they play for their respective High Schools. Girls not playing for their high school team will be allowed to play in the boys spring season if so desired.
Boys play in the winter & spring seasons, in the Fall they play for their respective High Schools
Referee:
The referee must be a USSF certified referee, and required at least a 2 man system.
Registration:
There are 3 ways to register to play in Far Post High School Soccer League. First is as an individual player who will be assigned to a local team. Second is as a whole team where we provide all the same amenities (minus the training) to the full team as we do to individual players, including a field with officials for all their home games as well. With this option a team may select to register with or without uniforms. Finally a team may register to only play in the league, this happens when the teams club will provide uniforms, insurance, home fields, officials, etc... Please contact Gin with any questions.
Individual Player Registration includes uniform, weekly training, liability insurance, and an 8 week outdoor season.
Any tournaments will require an additional fee.
Cost per player is: $85 or $60 if you have uniform from indoor season
Cost to register a team of no more than 18 is $1000 with uniforms or $600 without uniforms.
Cost to register a team for league play only is: $25
