Important Dates and Information

June/July 2023

 

Football Conditioning (NOT required, but strongly recommended)

Week 1: Monday, June 19 – Thursday, June 22 from 6 to 8 pm at Howland Glen Elementary

(8000 Bridle Ln NE, Warren, OH 44484)

 

               Week 2: Monday, June 26 – Thursday, June 29 from 6 to 8 pm at Howland Glen Elementary

**Please Note** Parents will need to sign a Release form BEFORE your child can participate.

There will be a table set up by the swings in front of the big field behind the school building.

Please have your child dress according to the weather and bring a water bottle.

Fundraising Party Wagon tickets will be available for pickup during these two weeks

 

Cheer Uniform Fittings Cheerleaders MUST attend one of these dates.

Additional items can also be ordered during fittings such as Pom-Poms, Hair Bows, etc.

Tuesday, June 20th from 6 – 8 pm at Howland Glen Elementary in front of the school by the entrance (8000 Bridle Ln NE, Warren, OH 44484)

               Wednesday, June 21st from 6 – 8 pm at Howland Glen Elementary in front of the school building by the entrance

**Please note** Cheer uniforms WILL NOT be ordered unless registration fee is paid. NO EXCEPTIONS

Fundraising Party Wagon tickets will be available for pickup during these times at the table by the swings in front of the football practice field.

 

Football Equipment Handout Football players MUST attend one of these dates.

**Please note** Equipment WILL NOT be issued if registration has not been paid. NO EXCEPTIONS

               Saturday, June 24th from 10 – 2 pm at Life Storage on Elm Rd unit J5

               Saturday, July 8th from 10 – 2 pm at Life Storage on Elm Rd unit J5

               Life Storage: 3787 Elm Rd NE, Warren, OH 44483. Enter through the opened gate and drive all the way to the very back of the facility (to the fence) and turn left. HLT’s unit is J5. The unit will be on your left hand side and there will be a fence on your right hand side.

               Fundraising Party Wagon tickets WILL NOT be available at Equipment handout. We apologize for any inconvenience.

 

Meet the Team Picnic

               Thursday, July 6th from 6 – 8 pm at Howland Glen Elementary

HLT will not be holding a traditional practice this evening. We ask that all cheerleaders and football players attend to meet your coaches and teammates. HLT will be providing pizza, plates, napkins and silverware. We ask each family bring something to share from the list below based on the team/squad your child will be participating on for the season.

100# - drinks (water bottles, pop, gatorade, juice boxes etc – asking for 16, 20, or 24 oz sizes)

125# - sides (chips, crackers, pasta salad, potato salad, cheesy potatoes, vegetables, etc – asking for single serve chip bags)

145# - dessert (cookies, cupcakes, fruit salad, fruit snack, etc – asking for individually wrapped items if possible)

**All leftover items (as long as individually sealed) will be used for the concession stand during home games. – Thank you for your support!**

There will be tables set up by the football practice field

First day of Practice for Football and Cheer

               Monday, July 10th from 6 to 8 pm at Howland Glen Elementary

               Football players will need their Helmets and Mouthpieces ONLY for the first week of practice. They may also wear their cleats (if they have them). Please dress according to the weather and have your child bring a water bottle to practice. Also, make sure your child is hydrating throughout the day. **Please note** HLT is supplying each football player with 1 mouth piece. It is a good idea to purchase your football player additional mouth pieces as they sometimes get lost or get worn out from players chewing on them. If your child does not have a mouth piece, they WILL NOT be permitted to participate at practice. The coaches will have a VERY LIMITED number of extras. Once they are gone, they’re gone.

               Football players MUST practice a total of 5 days in helmets only before full pads may be worn. This is for safety purposes per USA Football and the league that HLT must follow. No exceptions will be made to this rule. Coaches will be keeping track to ensure this rule is being followed. Once the 5 days of helmets only are completed, football players will begin wearing full gear for practices (Helmets, Mouth pieces, Shoulder pads, Integrated Football pants and Cleats).

 

               Cheerleaders please wear shorts, t-shirts/tank tops and TENNIS shoes. Your cheerleader will not be permitted to participate during practice if they are wearing sandals. Crop tops are not permitted for practices. Please make sure your cheerleader has a water bottle for practice and is hydrating throughout the day.

 

Fundraising Party Wagon tickets will be available daily during practice times at the table set up in front of the football practice field.

 

If you were unable to attend 2022 end of season banquet, trophies and yearbooks will be available to pick up during the first week of practice (July 10th – 13th) by the football practice field.

 

As a reminder, practices for football will be Monday – Thursday from 6 to 8 pm at Howland Glen Elementary. Cheer practices will typically be 3 days per week – please see your coach for the schedule.

 

Football will practice in the big field behind the school building. 100# will be closes to the fence, 125# will be in the middle, and 145# will be at the end closest to the school building.

 

Cheer practice will be in the grass area in front of the school building. Please be mindful of the residence who live in those houses. There will be no parking along the entrance route to the school. Everyone is required to park in the school parking lot. Thank you for your cooperation.

 

Last Day for Full Refund **Dates TBD**

               Once Cheer uniform and Football Jersey orders are submitted, you are no longer eligible for a full refund. (Service fees are non-refundable)
Last day for a full refund for Cheer will be Tuesday, June 20th
Last day for a full refund for Football will be Monday, July 17th

 

Last Day for a Partial Refund

               The last day to receive a partial refund (Registration paid minus uniform cost) will be Monday, July 24th (Service fees are non-refundable)

Party Wagon Tickets Due
Party Wagon Tickets stubs and money must be turned in by Wednesday, August 9th
**Uniforms WILL NOT be issued if tickets and money are not returned**
