First Day of Practice!

📣🏈Tomorrow is the first day of practice (rain or shine) for Football and Cheer at Howland Glen (8000 Bridle Lane NE) from 6 to 8pm. Seating is not available, so please bring yourself a chair.🏈📣

‼️Please use extra caution in the parking lot. There will be a lot of people and little ones walking/running around. **There is NO SMOKING at any Howland School Facility -- this includes the parking lot!!**‼️

💰If you haven't turned in money for football/cheer blocks/registration/cheer extras that money will be due at practice. Cash or Checks made payable to Howland Little Tigers will be accepted. There will be a table set up by the football practice field.
*There is a $25 fee for all returned checks*

🐾 Please make sure your child (for both football and cheer) has plenty of water and is hydrating throughout the day. Please have them wear comfortable clothing that will keep them cool (shorts, tshirts/tank tops) and tennis shoes--NO sandals!

🏈 The first 5 days of practice for football will be helmets (with mouth pieces) only. After the 5 Helmet days have been fulfilled, they will be wearing full pads (helmets, mouth pieces, shoulder pads, rib vests, integrated pants, cleats).
*Football players will not be permitted to practice without a mouth piece!!*
**Football players who start practice late or who miss any of the initial 5 practice days of helmets only MUST complete the 5 helmet only days before they are permitted to wear full pads**
Football players may wear cleats the first week if they have them, but they are not required until they begin full pad practices.
***If your football player still needs equipment, they will be fitted during practice. Reminder that there is a $200 equipment deposit CHECK for football equipment this season. Once equipment is returned, the check will be returned.***

🏈 Parking along the grass field where the football teams practice is reserved for our volunteer coaches who will be bringing equipment for the players to use during practice. There are plenty of spots in the parking lot for everyone. Thank you for your consideration and understanding.

📣 Parking for Cheer must also be in the parking lot and not along the grass. The entrance roads into and out of the school area need to be kept clear. Please be mindful of the families who live in the houses by the cheer practice area.

‼️If you were unable to attend the 2023 End of Season Banquet, pre-ordered yearbooks, pre-ordered t-shirts and trophies will be available to pickup at the table by the swings (from July 8th - 12th only)‼️

🏈 Football players will practice in the field behind the school. The Squiggs - 100# practice closest to the green fence. Pee Wees - 125# practice in the middle of the field, and Midgets - 145# practice at the end closest to the school building. The tables and rock area by the back of the school building are NOT to be used for HLT purposes. Thank you for your cooperation.

📣 Cheer will practice in the grass area in the front of the school building.

Reminder that the team your child is on (for both football and cheer) was determined by their age as of May 1st.
6-8 yr olds are Squiggs - 100#
9-10 yr olds are Pee-Wees - 125#
11-12 yr olds are Midgets - 145#.
The only exception to this would be a Football player moving up to the next team due to weight.
