Coaching is more than teaching a player the "right way" to do something. Large parts are creating an environment that fosters learning and problem solving and understanding the physical, psychological and cognitive development of your player.
People make careers of learning to understand how these work. Top coaches spend their lives learning from any and all resources available to them. MSJSL recommends that all of our coaches, experienced or just beginning to take one of the courses listed below and seek advice and help from Director of Player Development, Division Manager and fellow coaches.
US Soccer (USSF) National F License ($25)
The “F” license is a 2-hour course, conducted entirely online, intended for all parents and coaches of youth players. The focus of this grassroots course is to share U.S. Soccer’s best practices in creating a fun, activity-centered and age-appropriate environment for 5-8 year old players.
