Rudy Grubesky Bio 


Rudy M. Grubesky is currently the head coach for the U-14 girls’ team at the Dillsburg Area Soccer Club and an assistant women’s soccer team coach at Penn State-Harrisburg. He was formerly the head coach for the women’s soccer team at Wilson College in Chambersburg.

Recently, Coach Grubesky was named the 2016 Girl’s East Region Coach of the Year by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) and was presented with this prestigious award on January 12, 2017 at the NSCAA annual convention in Los Angeles based on his coaching at the Dillsburg Area Soccer Club. He was one of four girls’ team coaches in the country to receive this recognition by the NSCAA.

Coach Grubesky was also one of six current and former college coaches who successfully completed a 2016 USA-UK Soccer Coach Study Tour in Scotland and England that involved participating in coaching education programs conducted by internationally recognized coach training professionals including; Dick Bate, Craig Brown, Mike Dickerson, Roy Millar, and Jeff Tipping. The study tour also encompassed attending youth games, classroom and field training sessions, visiting iconic stadiums, and completing match analysis projects for high level professional soccer matches. The American coaches visited and observed training sessions at soccer academies at Celtic and Rangers in Glasgow and at Liverpool, Shrewsbury Town, and Manchester United in England to learn about player development in the United Kingdom.

In addition, he was one of 27 coaches who successfully completed the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Cup Experience, a 10-day coaching course that was held in conjunction with the Women’s World Cup in Winnipeg, Canada in 2015.

Coach Grubesky is in his twenty-third year of coaching soccer at a variety of levels, including travel, recreational, and Special Olympics teams for several youth soccer clubs in Adams County, as well as for middle school teams and six years at the high school level. He has also served as the head coach for the Capital Area Region’s girls’ soccer teams that participated in the Keystone State Games.

Coach Grubesky’s coaching credentials include successfully completing the requirements for the United States Soccer Federation (USSF) National “Y” (Youth), National “D”, and State “E” licenses. He has also earned his NSCAA High School Coaches Diploma along with the NSCAA state, regional and National Youth Diplomas. Coach Grubesky is also certified by the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) as a Level 1- Accredited Interscholastic Coach. He has also received the Major League Soccer (MLS) Camps Advanced Progressive Play Coaching Award.
Coach Grubesky has a Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Education from Clarion University of Pennsylvania and a Master of Arts degree in Administration of Justice from the University of Pittsburgh. He received a diploma from South Park High School in the Pittsburgh area and he is also a graduate of the Pennsylvania State Police Academy as a member of the 29th municipal police class.

Coach Grubesky retired from the Pennsylvania State Police in 2015 after 28 years of service. He began his career with the Commonwealth in 1987 and with the State Police in 1990. He was promoted several times and retired as the Director of the Training and Curriculum Development Section for the Municipal Police Officers’ Education and Training Commission. He has been a professional in the criminal justice field for 35 years and was a police officer and law enforcement trainer in both Pennsylvania and Texas.
