Volunteers Needed

The RBSA Board is looking for volunteers for the 2021 Season.

2020 Hardest. Season. Ever.  Yet, it was one of our most successful ever.  Pre-Covid registration numbers held steady and once we started playing 422 kids participated in June and July. We introduced a new summer camp session with 180 kids participating as well as a full Fall Baseball season with 177 participants.  Our Travel Program represented Revere very well in play all over the state and the Travel Softball season stretched into late September, giving the girls a Summer and Fall season.  They also brought home some hardware from tournament and league championships.

As a consequence of COVID, our softball program ran a rec-level skills camp in lieu of regular season this summer due to a lack of players, coaches and/or competition at every age level to make a season viable. This session was led by RHS' new Softball Coach, Joe Tagliarini.  RHS Baseball Coach, Jason Cottrell led our Summer Camp.  Both were assisted by their respective high school players and in the Softball Skills Camp case, also by Mrs. Lauren Regula a softball player on the Canadian National Team.

I would like each of you to take note of all of the things that have planned for our 2021 season:

1. Opening day is back (rain or shine)
2. 3rd year of PITCH, HIT and RUN  (all winners of the local event have had the opportunity to advance to the sectional level)
3. We have begun to announce some of the games.  (The kids love it)
4. The concession stand was open and ready for business more evening and weekends than ever.
5. 3rd annual end of the year picnic with movie night, games, and food.
6. We have designed coaching packets for those that want to help that might not a baseball background.
7. We have had huge support from our local community governments.  Bill Roemer presented RBSA with an official State of Ohio Proclamation. Bath Township has invested thousands of dollars back into the parks.  The Village of Richfield has given us great support via the parks and recreation department.
8.  Opening a Kickball Field at Bath Elementary through the generous donations of families who registered for the 2020 season, but withdrew due to COVID concerns and donated their registration fees to the new field.  The field will also accommodate T-Ball and Coach Pitch practices and games.

THE BOTTOM LINE IS:  WE NEED YOUR HELP!!!  Our current officers have been in place for 2 years now.  We would all like to work on training/mentoring our replacements.  We all still have 1 to 2 years in with our children in the system, so we will be here to make sure that you get the training and support you deserve. Most of hold 2 or 3 positions in addition to coaching our kids' team(s).  If we are accomplishing this much now, imagine how much better our league could be with a little help from you!
