Indy Premier SC Elite Boys Program Accepted Into National Premier Leagues (NPL)

May 22, 2017

Over the span of a few short years Indy Premier’s Elite Boys program has become one of the most highly regarded programs in the Midwest. This past weekend Indy Premier’s U13, U14, U15, and U16 Nike teams advanced to the State Cup Finals. The club’s track record of player development and results has been rewarded with access to higher level competition on a larger scale. Indy Premier SC is excited to announce its elite boys program has been accepted into the National Premier Leagues (NPL).

The National Premier Leagues (NPL) is a platform for top clubs across the country wishing to elevate and change the competitive youth soccer landscape by extending developmental principles espoused by U.S. Soccer into more age groups and clubs. The NPL links competition with player development and identification platforms, providing meaningful weekly competition culminating in the National Premier League Finals. The NPL Finals annually crowns NPL national champions as the capstone of the year-long, league-based competition. This prestigious event features U13-U18 qualifiers from every National Premier League across the country.

For the 2017-2018 year, Indy Premier’s U13-U18 Boys Elite teams will compete in the Midwest Development League (MDL) of the National Premier League (NPL) with some of the top clubs in the Midwest including Sockers FC Chicago (IL), Minnesota Thunder Academy (MN), and Madison 56ers (WI) among others. A full list of teams competing in the Midwest Development League can be found here. The structure of the league allows for each club’s U13-U18 aged teams to compete on the same weekend at the same location. This structure allows for a stronger club atmosphere with players able to see other teams and players. Additionally, multiple coaches working with each team results in more education and exposure for each player. Indy Premier SC will continue to participate in the Midwest Regional League (MRL) which ensures the club’s participation in State Cup events.

Additionally, acceptance into NPL allows for the opportunity to participate in NPL college showcase events as well as acceptance for selected players into the US Club Soccer’s id2 program. The id2 program is a National identification and development program that provides an opportunity for the country’s elite youth soccer players to be identified and developed for inclusion in U.S. Soccer’s National Team programs.

This groundbreaking promotion will give Indy Premier’s high level players access to stronger competition, more exposure and more opportunities for development. Any questions about participation in the National Premier League should be directed to Indy Premier’s Boys Director of Coaching, Joel Chalkley – [email protected].
