AUM Falls Short After Relocation Of Game

The game took two days and two cities to complete, and when it was all said and done, AUM finished on the short end of things.

The game started Tuesday in Underwood. Then the rain came. And kept coming. Eventually, the field couldn't hold any more water. After the game was delayed, it was then postponed. Officials and coached decided to us a coin flip to see if AUM or Troy would host the remainder of the game Wednesday night at 7:00. Troy won the coin flip. After jumping ahead and withstanding a hard comeback from AUM, Troy eventually won the state championship 12-8.

AUM Belles went four and two this post season. Unfortunately, the two losses came at inopportune times: the penultimate game in the state tournament and the championship game. AUM more than doubled their opponents in the post-season, outscoring the competition 68-32. They scored double digit run totals in three out of five games and held each opponent to single digit totals except the champions.

We are all proud of how the girls represented our league. We are grateful for their hard work and dedication. As each girl moves on to whatever is next, we wish them well.

And AUM will be back next season.
