Coaching Requirements

All persons desiring to be a coach must meet the following criteria prior to applying for a coaching position within the league:

  • Head Coach applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Assistant Coach applicants must be at least 18 years old and a High School Graduate or hold a G.E.D. Certificate.
  • Applicant must complete an Pop Warner coaching application.
  • Applicants are subject to interview by the Board of Directors.
  • Head Coaches must have a current CPR and First Aid card (Online certification is not allowed).
  • Applicants must complete USA Football Online Training Course (Level -1 minimum for new coaches.  Returning USA Football online members may complete the Re-certification Course or any other Level Course within USA Football)  (
  • Applicants must attend coaches clinic hosted by PW (Head Coach and one Asst. most attend.  Additional coaches may attend). 
  • All applicants will be subject to a LiveScan background check. Applicants request will be used to conduct a sex-offenders, local, state and nation-wide criminal history check.
  • Applicants are recommended to complete either the CDC Online Concussion Awareness Training ( or NFHS  Concussion In Sports (  Both courses are free.
