Coaching Experience & Philosophy
Coach Brian has been coaching soccer for 8 years. He has coached age groups from U4-U12 during that time. His coaching priorities have been consistent since he first started coaching – player development and instilling a love for the game in his players. Coach Brian prides himself on prioritizing long term player development over short term results. To Brian that means encouraging his players to always play under control and with purpose, use their skills and technique to beat players in 1v1 situations, build play out of the back whenever possible, and avoid aimlessly booting the ball down the field. Brian encourages his teams to play a possession based style of soccer (“the beautiful game”), which is more difficult to achieve initially but will benefit the players and the team in the long term. In addition to improving his players and teams – Brian constantly seeks to improve himself as a coach, which involves formal coaching classes/licenses and independently staying up to date on the latest and most effective coaching techniques through books, online research, podcasts, discussions with other coaches, etc.

Playing Experience:
Coach Brian started playing soccer in TX when he was 5 years old and played in NV for Neusport and HAFC. He also played competitive tennis where he was a 4 time state Champion at Green Valley High School and earned an athletic scholarship to University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. He continues to play soccer in various adult leagues around Las Vegas.

Brian is married and has two kids who both play soccer. His Yellow Lab is named Carli (after Carli Lloyd of the USWNT). He roots for the Oregon Ducks, Tennessee Titans, US Soccer National Teams, Portland Timbers, Las Vegas Lights, and of course the Vegas Golden Knights.
