Captains Kendra and Chloe had to say: "we fought hard in every game and showed the high quality of soccer that is taught and played at Idaho Rush Soccer Club. In the group stages, with three victories against teams from Utah, Colorado and Wyoming, we finished first in our group scoring 15 goals with zero goals against. My team fought hard in every game to make it to the final against Real Henderson (NV). We conceded an early goal but played hard and tied up the game with about 5 minutes left. Then, off a counter attack, Real scored with about a minute left and we lost 2-1.
Losing 2-1 in the final game of the tournament was tough. We had been through a lot in all of our games and it would have made all the hard work more rewarding to come out with a win. We so badly wanted to be the team holding up the President’s Cup Champions trophy. But, not being that team is even more motivating for next year. Now we know the feeling of being just short of our goal. We can take the lessons from that game and the rest of the tournament to get better and come back even stronger. The only way we will truly lose is by not learning from our mistakes. Now we are looking forward to what the future holds. Our team is excited to keep working towards winning future titles for Idaho Rush! - Kendra McDaniel
" Being able to play in Far West President's Cup was already an honor, but making it to the finals was a major accomplishment. The 03 Girls Premier team went into the tournament just wanting to play our best. It wasn't about the outcome it was about our work ethic. Our team fought hard and strong through every battle, no matter how heavy our legs were or how bad we were hurting. Our girls didn't need other people to pump themselves up before a game; they already were determined the minute they set foot on the field. We represented not only Idaho but Idaho Rush in the best way we knew how... soccer with passion. Bigger teams under estimated Idaho because we were unheard of, and not on the soccer map... until now! I am proud to be a caption among so many determined young woman! - Chloe Flynn
