NOW ACCEPTING MANAGER and COACH APPLICATIONS
YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE AN EXPERT COACH TO BE EFFECTIVE
BEFORE FILLING OUT APPLICATION, PLEASE MAKE SURE OF FOLLOWING COMMITMENTS:
1. Commitment to properly developing players and team.
2. Commitment to clear communication with players, parents and league.
3. Commitment to all practices, games & team activities.
4. Commitment to all league activities (clinics, coach meetings, evaluations, draft, etc...)
5. Commitment to being positive and having fun.
Being a team manager is an extremely rewarding experience and a great chance to have a positive impact on your players, parents and community. If you are considering managing your own team for the first time, please do not hesitate to fill out an application.
We have many coaching resources and a welcoming environment with many coaches willing to help.
MANAGER & COACH REQUIREMENTS
BASEBALL
ALL Managers and Coaches - Complete the following:
1. Managers Application (Fill-In Form)
2. Provide a Copy (Photo) of Driver License or State ID (Send in with application)
3. Managers Code of Conduct (Print & Sign, Send in with application)
4. Completion certificate of the online Babe Ruth/Cal Ripken Coaching Class ** REQUIRED FOR ALL COACHES **

(Send in certificate with application. May be collected after teams are formed)
5. Completion certificate of the Concussion Protocol (State Law) at this link - Concussion Protocol Course Link
This is a 40 minute FREE on-line course

6. Background Check Registration AND Child Safety/Abuse on-line Course - Click Here For Background Registration
This is $25.50
Child Safety/Abuse Course is a 30 minute on-line course as part of Background Check

Team manager approvals are based on review of managers application, background check and board of directors approval.
Mandatory Managers/Coaches Meeting
Thursday January 12th
This meeting is mandatory for all incoming managers/coaches for 2023 Spring season.
If you plan on being on field this season as a manager, head coach or assistant, join us for some important league info.
If you are interested in helping out as a possible coach, come on out so we can give you tools to be successful.
Baseball Player Options
The Player Option Form represents a Manager’s intent to option the listed player for the current season at
UPTOWN Long Beach Youth Baseball.
This request must be approved by the division Player Agent and/or the League President, and/or League Director
(Player Option form must be completely filled out and turned in prior to the player evaluations).
If the intent is to option siblings, then separate forms must be filled out.
A Manager may request, with the parent approval, up to three (3) players.
Manager's children (of division playing age) shall be a player option per League Rules.
In order to guarantee an assistant coach with a child of division playing age, they shall also be an option player.
Upon approval for the current season, and after all rules and regulations have been met, the Player Agent will approve this Intent to Option Player Form. If an option request is denied for any allowable reason, no new option will be allowed and player will enter as an “open player” into draft.
All Optioned Players SHALL attend a Player Evaluation and will be given a fair team draft slot position.
