Competitive Philosophy

“Success comes from knowing that you did your best to become the best that you are capable of becoming.” – John Wooden

This quote highlights the philosophy of Minnesota Rush Competitive Soccer. We focus on age appropriate player development and helping each soccer player become his or her best. If we are successful in accomplishing our primary focus, we believe that team success will follow.

2019 Spring Competitive Program U9-U19

We are excited to open our 2019 Spring / Summer Competitive Traveling program.  Entering our 44th year, Minnesota Rush (formerly RYSA) continues to be a leader in the soccer community with being one of the largest clubs in the state!  Minnesota Rush (formerly RYSA) is a state member of the Minnesota Youth Soccer League which is part of the United States Soccer Federation.  We follow all mandates and recommendations for player development set at the National level.

Recently US Soccer developed four new player development policies to help your child become the best player possible- Minnesota Rush (formerly RYSA) is a strong supporter of each one.  They are:

1- Birth Year age levels- players across the nation will all play at their birth year instead of their soccer year.
2- "Build-Out Line" for U9-U11 players to help foster the development of possession soccer and building out of the back.
3- No punting / heading for U9-U11 to help protect players.
4- Limiting game to practice ratio to one or at most two games a week.  Players playing in multiple games leads to injury and less time to improve.

By joining Minnesota Rush (formerly RYSA)  you will receive the following benefits:
  • United States Soccer Licensed Coach for each team- these are professional coaches that are required to obtain a minimum of a "E" License (18 hrs)
  • Senior Staff Coaches for each gender- these professional coaches have advanced degrees in coaching.
