Game Recap: Ohio - 3, California - 0

LAREDO -- Jack Kartsonas threw a shutout to lead Youngstown, Ohio past Santa Clara (Red Sox), California 3-0 on Sunday.

The pitching was strong on both sides as the only run production came in the bottom of the second when Ohio put up three runs. Kartsonas struck out four, while California pitchers sat down three.

In the aforementioned second inning, Ohio started their scoring after Andrew Sabella grounded out, scoring one run.

Kartsonas surrendered zero runs on six hits over seven innings, striking out four and walking zero.

Geremy McCollough started the game for Santa Clara (Red Sox), California. He allowed two hits and three runs over two innings, striking out one. Nathan Santos and Jorge Parada entered the game from the bullpen, throwing three innings and one inning respectively.

Lucas Gulczynski, Burke Camper and Chase Franken all had one hit to lead Youngstown, Ohio.

California tallied six hits on the day with Trevor Hangmann and Adame collecting multiple hits.

This loss ends California’s Palomino World Series hopes. As for Ohio, they will take on Puerto Rico in a rematch of last night’s thriller at 8:00 p.m.
