Player FAQs

Q: When are games and practices?
A: Games are usually played on Sunday afternoons. Occasionally there may be a game on Saturday due to the number of teams in your division. Practices are left up to the coach but generally are 1 to 2 times a week, approximately 1 hour long.

Q: Are all the children on my child’s team the same age and go to the same school? I want my child to know someone on his/her team.
A: Teams are made according to age and geographic area. There should be children from your child’s school, as well as children from other schools. This comforts the new player plus gives the opportunity to make new friends.

Q: Why would we need to have a second choice for geographic area?
A: There are times when there aren’t enough players to make a team in one area, yet in a different area they may have too many players on a team. By giving the option for a second choice we hope to give teams a better balanced number of players and perhaps allow all who want to play the opportunity to do so.

Q: If my child has a friend playing can we request to be on that friend’s team? My daughter is afraid she will be the only girl!
A: You can write the friend’s name on the registration form. However, we do not guarantee they will be on the same team. We follow certain guidelines when making teams in order to keep the sport as equally competitive as possible. We also try and balance the number of girls in each area, never leaving one girl alone on a team if possible.
