Peters Township Youth Cheerleading Association

Dear PTYCA Families:

The PTYCA Board would like to welcome our new and returning families to the 2022 season. PTYCA is organized for charitable and educational purposes to provide an atmosphere of good sportsmanship, positive competition, learning, and friendship in a safe environment to any eligible Peters Township resident.

This letter will address many important items regarding the upcoming season. Please read this letter carefully and contact the board with questions.

Registration and Eligibility

  • Registration opens: Tuesday, March 1, 2022

  • Registration closes: Friday, April 8, 2022

  • Registration fee:

    • $80 at time of enrollment. Families with two or more children will be required to pay the $80 registration for their first cheerleader, and a discounted enrollment fee of $70 for each additional cheerleader.

  • Exceptions for late registrants may be made on a case-by-case basis and only in limited situations where a family relocates into Peters Township after registration has closed.

  • Eligibility:

    • Child must be entering 1st – 6th grade for the 2022-2023 school year

    • Only Peters Township residents may join PTYCA. To remain eligible, must be a resident of Peters Township throughout the 2022 cheer season.

2022 Handbag Raffle

PTYCA relies upon our registration fee and fundraising to cover the costs of running our organization.

For the 2022 fundraiser, PTYCA will raffle off a Louis Vuitton Neverfull MM handbag in Black Monogram Empreinte Leather, valued at $2,900.

Upon registration, all families will be charged a fundraising fee of $100. During Cheer Camp in August, the Board will distribute five (5) raffle tickets per family. Families can choose to sell their tickets for $20 each (which would cover the fundraising registration fee) or keep the tickets and enter the raffle themselves. The drawing will be held on Facebook Live in September (winner need not be present). More details to follow.

Amazon Smile Fundraising

PTYCA participates in fundraising with Amazon. Amazon will contribute 0.5% of any purchase to PTYCA. To participate, visit and add the “Peters Township Youth Cheerleading Association” as the selected charity. For Amazon to contribute 0.5% of sales to PTYCA, you must shop at

Financial Hardship

Many of our families may be experiencing financial hardships. Regardless of your financial situation, the PTYCA Board wants every eligible child who would like to cheer to participate. Therefore, to permit our season to move forward in a cost-effective way, we have updated our uniform requirements for the 2022 season (please see below). The Board is also offering payment plans and scholarships. If you are experiencing a financial hardship, reach out to Board President, Shannon Villani at [email protected] Requests will be kept confidential.

Reimbursement if COVID Cancels Season

If the season is cancelled due to COVID, the board will refund your registration fee. If a portion of the season occurs, the Board will discuss and issue further guidance regarding prorated refunds. Prorated refunds will depend upon the amount of funds the Board has utilized for payment of camps and other associated costs. Please be assured that the Board will make every attempt to issue a fair refund. The Board is unable to refund the $100 handbag raffle fundraising fee. Requests for returns or refunds with our uniform providers are between the family and company. The Board will not mediate or facilitate refunds or returns of uniforms.

All uniform orders must be placed during uniform fitting day. Covid guidelines and precautions will be followed. Please have your child wear leggings or bike shorts and a tank top so that the uniform pieces can be tried on. Dressing rooms are not available for changing. Uniform pieces ordered on the uniform fitting’s days will be delivered to cheerleaders during camp held in August prior to the season starting.

The 2019 style for the vest and skirt will be the only approved option for this season.  Any families who have older versions of the uniforms will need to plan to attend the uniform fittings to place an order for the 2019 style.

Two uniform fitting dates have been scheduled. A sign up form and additional details will be communicated after April 8. Families will only need to choose one to attend.

  1. Wednesday, April 27, 2022 from 5:30pm-8:30pm at the Peters Township Rec Center

  2. Thursday, April 28, 2022 from 5:30pm-8:30pm at the Peters Township Rec Center
