Tackle Football - NPAA Sports Catz
NPAA Sports Catz tackle football teams play in the Pop Warner First Coast Conference. Pop Warner is the oldest national youth football and cheerleading organization in the world. Our football coaches are certified through and use USA Football techniques in shoulder tackling, blocking and block defeats to increase the safety as much as possible in tackle football. Our focus is on building character and teamwork while seeking to be competitive with sportsmanship. We use football as a tool to help youth be a more confident and resilient person.
Age and Eligibility
- 6U — Birthday between 8/1/2018 and 7/31/2020
- 8U — Birthday between 8/1/2016 and 7/31/2018
- 10U — Birthday between 8/1/2014 and 7/31/2016
- Coaches and Volunteers — We are looking for football and character coaches to assist at all age groups. We are also looking for team parents, concession sales and marketing assistance. Please reach out via email to learn more.
2024 Practices and Games
Practices will be held at Nease High School. Games will be played the greater Jacksonville area and will be determined by Pop Warner First Coast Conference.
What makes NPAA Sports different?
Our coaches are USA Football trained and certified to teach the USA Football Shoulder Tackling system (which JDL also uses), but we play at a higher competitive level. All coaches are volunteers and do not take stipends. Your fees feed the program and not salaries!
We seek parent volunteers to serve as Character Coaches to help players regulate their emotions and strengthen the mental part of their game. That allows the football coaches to concentrate solely on strategy, play calling and game situations.
We play in the Pop Warner First Coast Conference. Pop Warner has been around for nearly 100 years and focuses on developing life-long values of teamwork, sportsmanship and a superior work ethic on the playing field and in the classroom.
All players will get a minimum number of plays in each game, and have the ability to compete for specific positions and additional playing time by their effort, attitude, and performance in practice.
