Hello, my name is Bo Harvey, and I am excited and honored to be coaching one of the junior teams this season.  I have lived in Stanwood/Camano my entire life. I graduated from Stanwood high school in 1998. My wife Anna and I have two kids, Rylee and Gunner. We do everything we can to support them with the  sports they choose to play. I have coached for Scorpion wrestling and YMCA flag football. I am a Seahawks fan for life and love everything NFL. I played football as a cornerback when I was in middle school then focused my passion towards wrestling in high school. My son Gunner loves football and probably knows more about the game than I do at this point. I have coached for his flag football team for the Y over the last four seasons. It's been a blast to see him, and his teammates grow year over year. Last year he signed up to play for SYF and loved it, so we signed him up again for this season. When I saw that there were so many juniors signing up and that the league may need a second coach but was having a tough time finding someone due to the large commitment it entails, I reached out to see if I could help. I believe all kids deserve the opportunity to play in youth sports and would hate to see kids not signing up due to the league not having enough coaches. I also believe that sports, especially football helps kids learn discipline, self confidence and teamwork. My philosophy for coaching is focused on creating an environment that builds each players passion for the sport and teaches sportsmanship and teamwork. I believe each player has talent and its my job to help them find it and implement it on the field. I look forward to the upcoming season and am excited to see so many kids showing interested in the sport. 

Midgets Division (9-10 year olds)

     Justin Curtis (Spartan White)
Justin served as Treasurer of SYF for the 2021 and 2022 seasons. Justin and his wife Amanda have one son in the SYF program and two daughters in the Stanwood Youth Cheer program. Justin is also a Head Coach in the SYF program and prides himself on development of football fundamentals and mindset. In addition to SYF, he also serves as President for The BeLegendary Movement, a Stanwood based non-profit organization focused on the mental health of our youth.

     Nathan Slattery (Spartan Red)

Married to my beautiful wife Amanda for 12-years, we have three boys. Coached in the SYF program for 3-years, 2 as head coach. Coached YMCA Flag Football 2-years. Played HS Football at Cascade High School. Love doing outdoor activities with my family: Hiking, Camping, Fishing, Hunting.

PeeWee Division (6-8 year olds)

    Jay Bonnifield
Jay Bonnifield has been involved with Stanwood youth football since childhood growing up in the Stanwood/Camano area. Jay is a firefighter by trade and is married to his wife of over 10 years, Tessa. They have 4 kids: Nolan, Addy, Ethan and Parker, and live on Camano Island. Jay's biggest reason for being involved with the program is to help foster an environment where kids in our community can fall in love with football and can build the incredible life skills the sport has to offer that will impact them in any endeavor, on or off the field.
