Sideline Cheer

Cheerleaders on these  squads cheer for the players of the Peters Township Junior Football Association which is part of the South Hills Youth Football League. The cheer season will begin with a cheer camp held at the beginning of August.  This is where cheerleaders will learn the majority of the material they will perform during the season.  The football games are typically on Saturdays with times and locations varying. 

The PTYCA goal is to teach the basics of cheerleading, team building, good sportsmanship and of course having fun.

Minis - Grades 1/2
JV - Grades 2/3
Varsity - Grades  4/5/6*

Squad size is capped at 25. Grades are an estimate and not a definite for placement. Placements can vary based on team sizes and experience. In developing squads this year, we will take a look at cheerleader experience levels to ensure each squad has a proper mix of skills, which will also provide learning opportunities for everyone in the organization! Registration is filled on a first-come, first-serve basis.

*Some Varsity squads also have 3rd graders who have football siblings or have "leveled up." This opened spots in JV and allowed us to take additional younger cheerleaders for the 2023 season.

These squads will also participate in community events such as the Memorial Day Parade, Youth Recognition Night,  Peters Township High School P-Rade and the 9/11 First Responders Memorial Dinner Delivery.

Registration Fee: $130
