Through the Pre-Discovery program our aim is to find local coaches who are dedicated, enthusiastic, and hungry to learn (and get better as a coach). PDP coaches will gain valuable insight into our approach to player development, player curriculum and coaching education.
Coaches Education & Learning Resources:
o 12 training sessions from the Timbers coaching staff.
o X1 webinar introducing ”Timbers building blocks of Development”
o X1 webinar on “How to plan and implement a training session”
o X1 in person presentation at the Timbers Training Facility.
o In person game analysis with Timbers 2 (T2)
o Opportunities to watch Timbers Academy Training (U15-U17).
o Opportunities to watch Timbers Discovery Training (U12-U14)
o Adidas Timbers coaching gear providing.
PDP DIRECTOR:
o Oversees the assigned location
o Attends all trainings, ID events and coaching education events
o Manages staff
o Communicates promptly & regularly to parents and coaches
o Arranges rosters, player evaluations, session plans and submits weekly technical reports
PDP COACH:
o Implements and successfully runs the received training session
o Create a development focused and learning environment for all players
o Works with PDP Director on player evaluations
