CHECKING IN PLAYERS BEST PRACTICES

We need people to fill these roles:

  1. At least two people checking players in (We should have at least two lines to check-in), writing down the player's name next to the tryout jersey number on the paper copy provided by Melissa, and checking Sports Connect on their device to make sure that player is in fact registered and the tryout number is added.

  2.  At least one person to get the size tryout shirt needed and be a witness to making sure the correct tryout number is recorded. Tryout shirts should not be given until registration has been completed and verified by finding it in Sports Connect. Ideally, there would be one person assigned to each person checking players in.

  3. One person out by the lines making sure people are in line for the correct age group. This person can also remind people that they cannot receive a tryout shirt until they have registered for tryouts. For those who haven't registered, send them to our tryout page on our CMS website for the link:  https://www.coppermountainsoccer.com/competition/tryouts

  4. If there are more than 5 people helping, then they can either be a 3rd line to check players in or they can help the next person in line by pulling up their registration.

ADDING TRYOUT NUMBERS TO A PLAYER'S REGISTRATION

  1. Log in on this page: http://leagues.bluesombrero.com/coppermountainsoccer. The “Log in” button is on the upper right hand corner of the page. Your username is the one you set up when you registered as a Team Manager (you will not be able to do this until you are added as a manager within the system which will happen a few days before tryouts begin).

  2. Click on “Evaluations” in the drop down of “Teams” > “Players” on the top toolbar

  3. Names will be filtered alphabetically. However, if this order needs to be updated, click on the arrow next to “Player Name” and click on “Sort A-Z”. It is important that you find their name on this list because this is how they will be contacted after tryouts. IF you are not able to find the players name as they are checking in, it means they have not completed registration and a tryout shirt should not be given to them. THEY MUST COMPLETE TRYOUT REGISTRATION IF THEY WOULD LIKE TO PARTICIPATE.

  4. In the “Rating” box on the player line, please enter the jersey number they are given at tryouts and their birth year (ie. 304-13, their name and tryout number should also be recorded on the paper Melissa leaves with the tryout shirts as a back up). Returning players, players who played on a CMS team last year, should receive a tryout number of 99 or below. Players new to the club should receive a triple digit tryout number. IF you open the "Rating" box and there is already a number, it is most likely for another age group; please add a comma and the additional age group tryout number along with the birth year (ie. 304-13, 415-12). If the same tryout number is available in both age groups, give that same jersey number so the player doesn't need to remember what number to wear to which age group tryouts.

  5. Lastly, please either take a photo of the list of players attending and their corresponding tryout # and email these pics to the head coaches in your age group OR let the coaches know who has the list so they can contact you if there is a discrepancy. This list should be kept for 10 days after tryouts. Coach's email addresses can be found on the CMS website on the "Competition" drop down on the top tool bar, under "Coach and Team Info". THANK YOU!!
