The Portland Timbers Alliance Club program is a strategic partnership with elite youth clubs in the Portland Timbers’ development territory, designed to build unique working relationships and development opportunities to help channel the top youth players towards the Timbers’ development programs and the Timbers Academy and help Clubs reach their potential with our resources. 

As part of the Alliance, the Timbers share coaching resources and curriculum with Alliance Clubs in the development of youth players and programs. Alliance Clubs benefit greatly from gaining insight into the Timbers and Thorns methodology, Game model and receive a variety of training session plans direct from MLS and NWSL Coaching staff. 

Additionally, youth Clubs in the alliance will be allowed the unique privilege of incorporating the Timbers brand into their Club. 

Youth players from across the Timbers development territory, not just affiliated with an adidas Timbers Alliance club, also have the opportunity to be identified for a Portland Timbers Academy team within the MLS Next Platform. In years past we have identified multiple talented players who have training for prolonged periods within the Portland Timbers Academy structure. We continue to look for highly talented players who may be a good fit.

Portland Timbers coaches are also on hand to visit Alliance Clubs to run training sessions, camps, identification sessions and a variety of high-level coaching education pieces tailor made to each Alliance Clubs needs.
