Week 2
Practice Plan and Objectives
- FUNdamental Skills  - 75% of Coaching Focus is on ATTACKING Principles - Dribbling  - Laces (top of the foot)- push the ball forward and run 
- Sole (bottom of the foot)- rolling the ball in either direction 
- Inside of Foot and Outside of Foot (little toe) 
 
- Ball Control - Inside of Foot and Outside of Foot- turning the ball 
- Sole (bottom of the foot)- stopping the ball 
 
- Shooting and Passing - Laces 
- Inside of Foot- more for placement shooting while running; some children at this age still have trouble physically opening their hips to pass the ball with the inside of their foot. 
- Outside of Foot (little toe) to pass while running  
 
 
 
Practice - 60 to 75 minutes
- 15-20 Minutes- Warm Up King of the Ring - Focus on Ball Control to keep ball away from opponent and laces to get to space  
- Reinforce the parts of the foot - Laces to dribble  
- Inside of the foot and sole to turn the ball and stop the ball 
- Teach the Pull-Back 
- Teach Inside and Outside Cuts 
- Teach the Cruyff Turn  
 
 
WATER BREAK
- 15-20 Minutes-  1v1 to 3v3 or Magic Number  - Reinforce Parts of the Foot - Laces to dribble quickly to space and finishing 
- Inside, Outside, and Sole to turn and cut 
 
 
 
WATER BREAK
- 20-25 Minutes- Play the Game!  
- 6v6 to 7v7, depending on the number of children at practice - Okay to have uneven numbers, like 5v6 or 6v7, etc.  
- Use big goal if possible and rotate players to try out Goalkeeper position 
- When the ball is out of play, teach throw-ins, goal-kicks, corner-kicks 
 
- Coach the players with the ball on dribbling, turning, and shooting - Reinforce the sole and inside of the foot to control the ball and stop the ball before it goes out of bounds. 
- Laces to dribble into space
