Important Summer Camp Information

We are just a couple of days from our third annual Carolina Copperheads Football and Cheer summer camps! Here is some important information for the upcoming week:

Camp Dates:
Summer camp will occur Monday through Thursday (June 16-19) from 6 to 8 p.m. at the top track of Catawba Ridge High School, across from Forest Creek Middle School.

We will begin promptly at 6 p.m. Please ensure campers arrive early so they can check in with our staff before camp. Check-in will start at 5:30 p.m. at the entrance to the track field.

Families are welcome to stay and watch camp; we ask that all non-campers and Copperhead staff remain outside of the track fence. Guardians should be at CRHS by 7:50 p.m. to ensure a smooth post-camp pick-up.

What to bring

All campers should wear a T-shirt and shorts, and make sure to bring the following items to camp with them:

  • Cleats or athletic shoes for our football campers; athletic shoes for our cheer campers. (No metal cleats)
  • Full water bottle
  • Wet cooling towel (if you have one)

Notes: We will set up multiple water refill stationsbut we want to ensure each camper has their own bottle. Please make sure your camper has sunscreen on before arriving at camp.

Hydration is key for a successful week for our campers. Generally, to stay hydrated, you should drink about one-third of your body weight in ounces of fluid. This number typically increases in warmer temperatures and with exercise; proper hydration starts the day before increased activity.

Weather outlook
The Carolina Copperheads organization is actively monitoring the weather for next week's camp. Camp temperatures are expected to be in the upper 80s to lower 90s.

We will carefully monitor the wet-bulb temperature to ensure campers are getting a safe number of water breaks.

In the case of a severe storm (with lightning), campers will seek shelter under the building on the track or in the vehicle of a guardian until the all-clear is given. Lightning detection monitoring is in place at CRHS, and we will follow the guidance of the school and athletic staff during any potential storms.

If weather forces a delay or cancellation of a portion of camp, families will be notified via email. We thank you in advance for helping adhere to this weather policy. Our first concern is the safety of our campers, families, and coaches.

Ready for Fun
We are ready to welcome our 2025 Copperheads campers on Monday and are looking forward to a fun week full of learning and non-contact skill development.

If you still need to register for camp, you can visit here to sign up today.
