Whitman Police Walk Off With Game 1 Win

It came down to the wire on Monday at 100 Corthell Ave, as Whitman Police grabbed the victory in walk-off fashion, 4-3, over Peak Performance in Game 1 of the Majors Championship Series.

Whitman Police were down 3-2 in the bottom of the sixth inning when Caden Bandini singled, scoring two runs. Ryan Foley struck out 11 batters on the day. The hurler also surrendered three hits and two runs over four innings while walking two. Peak Performance got on the board in the first inning after Drew Labrador singled, scoring one run. Peak Performance scored one run in the top of the sixth on a solo home run to left field by Michael Telesmanick.

Whitman Police took the lead, 4-3, in the bottom of the sixth thanks to singles by Ryan Spry, Matty Skowyra, Crosby Hall, and Caden Bandini.

Matthew Skowyra earned the win for Whitman Police. The right-handed pitcher gave up one hit and one run over two innings, striking out four and walking none. Logan Ssmith took the loss for Peak Performance. The hurler went one-third of an inning, surrendering three runs on four hits, striking out none and walking one. Michael stepped on the hill first for Peak Performance. The starting pitcher gave up zero hits and zero runs over three and one-third innings, striking out five and walking none.

Caden drove the middle of the lineup, leading Whitman Police with two runs batted in. The first baseman went 1-for-2 on the day. Crosby, Ryan Spry, Caden, and Matthew each collected one hit for Whitman Police. Michael and Drew each collected two hits for Peak Performance. Michael and Drew each drove in one run for Peak Performance.

Next up for Whitman Police is a Game 2 at Peak Performance on Wednesday night.
