Hello Parents and Players -
With registration now complete, we wanted to send a brief update on the status of the League and highlight some important upcoming dates.
Majors and Intermediates
We have successfully formed teams following tryouts and drafts held in late February and early March. This season we will have 10 teams in the Majors and 12 teams in the Intermediates, representing an increase of 1 and 2 teams, respectively.Indoor practices have begun, with each team scheduled for one weekend and one weekday practice over a three-week period. The regular season schedules have also been posted and should now be available to everyone. We are hopeful the weather will improve soon so teams can begin practicing outdoors, but the fields remain closed for now. The batting cages at Disbrow, however, will be open soon.
Team assignments for Minors and Tee Ball
Tee Ball and Minors teams, which are comprised of Kindergarteners, 1st graders, and 2nd graders, are built manually and will be predominantly aligned by school. We are working on team formation now, and you should expect to hear from your head coaches by the end of March.
Opening Day Parade and Uniform Distribution
Our Opening Day Parade is scheduled forSaturday, April 11th. As in the past, we will join forces with Rye Girls Softball. While this will be the official start of the season, Majors and Intermediates games are expected to begin the week of April 6th. We plan to have our first weekend of baseball for our Tee Ball and Minors on the parade weekend.
We expect to distribute uniforms to our Majors and Intermediates teams within the next 2 weeks, and for our Minors and Tee Ball teams in early April. All players will receive a team jersey and a hat. Players will be responsible for providing his or her own baseball glove, cleats, white baseball pants, baseball socks, and a batting helmet. The league provides catcher's equipment, balls, training equipment, etc.
Important:For our Majors and Intermediates leagues, only bats with the USA Baseball label will be allowed. Please double check before you purchase any bats.
Team Communications and Logistics
Last year we switched to a new system, Sports Connect. The communications functions through this system may not be as familiar as others, so when in doubt please reference our website Rye Little League > Home. You will find information on our site including game schedules, news and events, notices (rain out alerts), and field status. For our Majors and Intermediate teams, we will also rely on the Game Changer app for games scores, schedules, and availability. Both Sports Connect and Game Changer will be used for team communication.
DICK’s Sporting Goods 20% off Shopping Event
Today through Monday the 16th, the White Plains Dick's Sporting Goods store location will be hosting the annual Rye Little League Discount Weekend to assist families and players with preparing for the upcoming baseball season. Please use this coupon at checkout:

We hope you find this information helpful. We are very excited for the upcoming season. With over 540 players registered, our divisions and available field space are at full capacity. Spring is very busy, and we know that scheduling can prove tricky for parents. We are working to finalize game and practice schedules as quickly as possible. We appreciate the many activities our kids participate in and remain a league where players can form new friendships, develop their baseball skills, and enjoy being part of a team. We ask that parents communicate player availability consistently and expect regular communication from our coaches as well.
On behalf of the Rye Little League Board, thank you for participating in Rye Little League. We are looking forward to another great season!
