Tryout:
When: Sunday 10/26, 1 pm - 3 pm
Where: Lakeridge High School Varsity field
Note: This will be a closed tryout; players only
Structure: Lakeridge High School coaches will run the tryout, evaluate the players, and make recommendations to the Board on team formation.
- Roster: 11-12 players
- Eligibility: Players must still be 12 years of age as of the Cal Ripken cutoff date of 5/1/26
- Season:
- Winter: Dec-Feb: Flexible training sessions indoor at the LHS hitting barn. Typically once/week
- Spring/Summer: March – July; Full practice and tournament and game play
- 2 practices per week
- 6-8 weekend tournaments; tournaments may be replaced with round robins and/or single games and double headers during the week or on weekends.
- “Post season” play includes the Northern Oregon Cal Ripken State Tournament in mid-July. The winner gets to compete at the PNW Cal Ripken Regional Tournament, typically held in Idaho or Montana, in late July
- ~40 games total
- Play rules: 50’ pitching mound, 70’ bases. Leadoffs, balks, full baseball rules
Cost: $1,250 - $1,500 per player. This covers two sets of uniforms, team gear, tournament costs, insurance, umpires, and facility costs.
**Note that any player that does not make the 12U Select team may be eligible to play in our Cal Ripken Majors rec program if they are still age/grade eligible. This program typically covers 5th and 6th graders, and is a no cut program.
