2026 Season – Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

⚾️ Get ready for another exciting season of Osceola Youth Softball! Below you’ll find answers to our most commonly asked questions to help you prepare for registration and the season ahead.

📅 When does registration open and close?

Registration opens January 7, 2026 at 12:01 AM and will close February 6th, 2026, or earlier if a division fills.

🎂 How is league age determined?

For softball, a player’s league age is based on their age as of December 31, 2025.
Age charts will be posted on our website and Facebook page for easy reference.

📝 Does registering for a division guarantee placement?

No. Registration indicates a preferred division only. Final placement may change based on:

• Player evaluations

• Skill level and experience

• Prior years of play

• Overall league needs

Our goal is to create balanced teams and the best experience for all players.

🔄 Why might my child be moved up or down a division?

To ensure competitive balance and full divisions, players may be placed according to:

• Skill level and experience

• Previous seasons played

• Total number of players registered

Divisions and teams may be adjusted as needed.

🧢 Which divisions require Player Evaluations (tryouts)?

All Minors and older divisions require evaluations and use a draft system.

🤝 Are coach or teammate requests allowed?

• Minors and older divisions: Coach and teammate requests cannot be accommodated due to the draft process.

👟 Who must attend Player Evaluations?

• All players in Minors and older divisions

• Any player moving up to a new division, including:

  • Coach Pitch → AA

  • AA → AAA

  • AAA → Majors

  • Majors → Juniors

This requirement applies even if a parent is coaching.

🗓 How many evaluation days are required?

Each player attends one evaluation session only.

📍 Where are evaluations and games held?

Evaluations and will be held at:
Osceola High School

All home games will be held at:
Oren Brown Community Park

🏟 How will I know what night my team practices?

Practice nights are determined by individual coaches, so practice schedules are not available before the season begins.
