CALL/WPLL Families,
The regular season is underway and all your regular season games are scheduled. Let's take a minute to talk about the postseason. This varies based on division and both individual and team performance. Please note that some dates have not been finalized yet
T-Ball and Farm divisions have no postseason.
CALL/WPLL Playoffs
Divisions: AA-Majors
Time Frame: May 9th - May 15th
CALL/WPLL teams will play a series of games to determine the 1st/2nd/3rd place team of each division. This will determine which team represents CALL/WPLL in the District 17 tournaments.
District 17 Tournament of Champions and City Tournament
Divisions: AAA and Majors
Time Frame: May 16th - June 1st (estimate)
The top two teams from CALL/WPLL AAA and Majors divisions will play in two separate district 17 tournaments (1st place ToC, 2nd place City). These are single elimination tournaments with games every few days.
District 17 Intermediate and Juniors Playoffs
Divisions: Intermediate / Juniors
Time Frame: May 9th - May 23rd (estimate)
Unlike the lower divisions the Intermediates and Juniors participate in a district wide playoff that combines the playoffs and a single Tournament of Champions.
All Stars
Divisions: 9U, 10U, 11U, 12U, 13U, 14U
Time Frame: June - Early July (for district playoffs)
This is the start of what eventually becomes the Little League World Series. These are separate teams formed from the best players across our leagues. The teams are formed based on player league age (vs. division). Note that we don’t always field teams at every age bracket (it depends on player/coach availability). All Star teams have an additional fee ($150) as there is a separate uniform and an additional month of practices and games. Scholarships are available if needed.
The schedule is:
- Coaches query their families to confirm their interest/availability. (April)
- Team selection based on coach recommendations (May 1st)
- Practice will start as soon as ToC/City tournaments complete
Note that these games could (in theory) continue through August if our teams keep winning. In practice, due to our league size, it is very rare for our teams to advance out of the district playoffs.
