Welcome Parents

Welcome Parents to the 2026 Season at SKELL,

We are excited for this season at SKELL.  Please follow your team page for information specifically related to your team; team roster, manager information, practices, games and more.  Your team manager will decide what color pants, socks and belt your team will wear for the season.

Throughout the website we have a lot of information for the league.  Please reach out to our the SKELL Board of Directors if you have specific questions within the league.  We are here to help.  We are always looking for people to help; managers, coaches, team parents, score keepers, umpires, grounds crew and board members.

At SKELL we feel that we are a FAMILY.  Throughout the season we offer fun events on and off the fields.  Everyone is welcome.  Please look at the SKELL calendar for fun events with SKELL.

Thank you

Gear and Uniform information

All player levels: Please provide cleats, a baseball glove appropriate for your child’s size and age, and for boys an athletic supporter and cup. Later in the season, the league will provide the uniform shirt and a team hat for games. We ask that the players provide their own pants, socks and a belt. The colors of the pants, socks and belt will be determined by the manager of the team.

All Players:  Each player will keep their uniform shirt and team hat, that is provided by the league. Parents are responsible to provide pants, socks, belts, possible undershirt and for boys an athletic supporter and cup. The manager will decide the color of the pants, sock and uniform belt.

Bats & Helmets:  The league provides 6 helmets per team and 3 USA Baseball bats per team.  We do not expect or require for you to provide your own bat or helmet.  We ask the players to respect the gear that is provided to each team, by the league.   If you would prefer your child to have their own bat or helmet, SKELL is not liable for any loss or damage to the gear.

Player Tryout (Assessments) - 2026

Baseball & Softball Player Tryout(Assessments) are for players that are league age 8-16. Tryouts are a great opportunity for managers to evaluate players that are going to or in Minors, Majors, Junior and Senior Divisions. Players need to attend at least 50% of the scheduled tryouts (assessments).

During Tryouts players will be evaluated on their ability to listen and follow directions. There will be drills that will help the managers assess the player’s ability to field, track and hit a ball. Please arrive on time, so the player can check in and be warmed up prior to tryouts.

Any returning Major Division player will return to their previous Major Division team. They will not be able tryout. If they do not want to return to the same team, please contact our Player Agent prior to February 9, 2026.

Practices and Games

Parents:

Please do not drop your child off at practice and leave without notifying your team's manager or coach.

We as a league, advise the parents to stay at practices and games, and to be involved.  We don't expect every parent to be out on the field helping with practices, but it is important to have your child see you present.  Also, if there are any issues with practices, injury or behavior issues that need to be addressed, it is important that the parent is around.

We want the parents to be around with every division, especially Major, Minor, Coach Pitch and T-Ball, even the Junior and Senior Divisions (especially when it comes to behavior issues).

Making Memories and Respecting the Game

Parents,

Time flies by so quickly.  Encourage your child to respect, cherish, and love the game, their teammates, managers & coaches, the umpires and all of the spectators.  Before we all know it, our children will be bringing their children to the fields to play the game we all love.  It is more than just winning and losing, we are here to build character for our children.  LEAD BY EXAMPLE, respect the managers & coaches, other parents and spectators, the UMPIRES and respect the children at our fields.  Players need to respect each other on and off the field.  Again, time flies by, faster than you'll realize, keep these memories close and make GOOD memories of playing baseball at South Kitsap Eastern Little League.
