Scorekeeper's Role

•You are responsible for keeping the official score of the game.

•You are the one who has the final say on whether or not an error is made.

•You are the one who ensures that every player has a chance to have his or her name in the newspaper.

•You are responsible for keeping an accurate record of the game.

Tools for the Job

Before the Game

Locate your scorekeeper tools:

All of your tools will be in the scorekeeper's booth.  Here's a list of what you will need:  

  • BLACK or BLUE Pen
  • PENCIL (either regular or mechanical)
  • RED pencil
  • An eraser
  • A copy of the Official Regulation rules and Playing Rules (this is a softbound book 4.5" by 6.25")
    • Blue cover for baseball
    • Orange cover for softball
  • A copy of the SKELL's Local League Rules
  • A line up for your team and one from the opposing team
  • The scorebook
  • The pitching log (baseball only)
  • Each team's Pitching Affidavit (baseball only)
