Dundalk Little League Tee Ball Rules (4-6)
Tee-Ball:
League Age 4 to 6 years old.
This division is an introductory program to baseball. This is about having fun and learning basic baseball skills
Coaches will help their players develop the basics of throwing, hitting off a tee, catching, and good sportsmanship.
This is a non-competitive division
The teams are between 6 to 8 players each.
The season typically runs from mid-April through late June.
Game Schedule
Two Weekday games for approximately 60-75 minutes starting at 6pm
There will be game(s) on Friday night under the lights for special league games. Start Time 6pm.
Games will be played regardless of the number of players present. If teams are drastically unbalanced, the players in attendance shall be divided into 2 teams.
Practice Schedule:
Practice starts April 1st. Wednesday and Friday Practice till season starts. Once season starts Practice on Wednesday and games both Friday and Saturday.
Practice starts at 6pm and Friday games start at 6pm unless it's the special Friday under the lights game.
Friday under the lights game will start at 7:30 with pregame ceremonies starting at 7:05
Player's Equipment
Players are given a team jersey, and baseball hat.
Cleats (plastic spikes) are optional but recommended.
Bats are provided (you may provide your own if desired). Tee Ball regulated
Helmets are provided to coaches (you may provide own if desired)
Players supply their own pants and fielding glove.
Game Rules:
Four are played or 1 hour and 15 minutes time limit.
An inning is defined as each player that is present getting up to bat. The last batter of the inning clears the bases with a "home run".
Fielding positions - All positions are fielded except catcher.
Tee Ball divisions, the offensive coach pitches to their own players. The coach may stand but taking a knee is suggested between the pitching rubber and home plate, usually about 20–25 feet away the coach throws 3 pitches. If the batter doesn’t put the ball in play, the ball is then placed on the tee.
All plays on the ball must be made by team players. No coach/adult may field a ball.
Outs are introduced as the season progresses.
There is no stealing.
Score is not kept.
Gloves must be used by all fielders.
Game Safety Rules:
Only the batter is allowed to have a bat in their hands. There is no on deck batter.
Batters and all base runners must wear a helmet.
