Little League Minors (6-8 age) Program Description
Coach Pitch
League Age 6 to 8 years old. Use the Little League age chat for 2026 to find your child’s year of birth.This division has Coach pitchers and is competitive, so scores and standings are kept.
This division introduces standard baseball rules. Although no walks allowed Strike outs may occur. End of a half inning is 3 outs or run limit.
The role of the coaches is to develop basic baseball skills and demonstrate good sportsmanship.
This is about player safety and making the game fun.
Each team will have no more than 12 players.
The players are taught to learn strategies of the game and improve their skills. The role of the coaches is to develop skills and encourage (and demonstrate) good sportsmanship. The game is about the kids having fun and learning, NOT the coach's win-loss record.
Schedule
Spring season games are played twice per week - games could be played any day of the week except for Sunday.
Games are played on our Logan Elementary, Merritt Point Park, and Dundalk Elementary fields. With possibilities of inter-league play with other Little League programs
Player's Equipment
Spring season, all players are given a team Jersey, pants, and a baseball hat.
Cleats (plastic) are strongly recommended.
Athletic supporters are recommended for boys.
Male catchers are REQUIRED to wear an athletic supporter with a cup.
Players must provide their own glove. The league will provide bats, helmets players may also use their own.
Game Rules
Each game is 6 innings, or hard stop at 2 hours.
Season games are coachable, meaning the coaches can be on the field coaching the players.
Offensive coaches must be in the coaches' box at 1st and 3rd base when their team is at-bat. Defensive coaches are not allowed on the field except during a time-out.
There is NO on-deck arm warm-ups in or around the dugout.
No head-first diving at any base or home plate.
Catchers must wear a catcher's helmet, catchers mill, chest protector, and shin guards. Males must wear an athletics supporter and cup.
NO spectators are allowed in the dugouts, behind the dugouts, or immediately behind the backstop
BEFORE and AFTER each GAME
Players should arrive at the field 30 minutes prior to their game to warm-up.
Players must clean their dugout at the conclusion of each game and practice.
