CESC to Host College Showcase

Cape Express SC to Host College ID Showcase Event in Cape May County

The Cape Express Soccer Club proudly announces its 1st Annual College ID Showcase Event. This one-of-a-kind event will allow high school-aged soccer players from throughout South Jersey to demonstrate their skills and discuss their potential collegiate careers for a cadre of college coaches representing collegiate soccer programs from throughout the mid-Atlantic region, all without leaving Cape May County

This inaugural event will consist of both an on-field practical playing experience in which both male and female high school-aged players will have the opportunity to showcase their skills for the college coaches, immediately followed by an indoor event in which players will be able to visit each of the collegiate coaches in attendance and speak with them about their potential futures at the sport’s next level.

Cape Express SC has received commitments from several regional colleges and universities of varying size, including Villanova University (PA, D-I), Drexel University (PA, D-I), West Chester University (PA, D-II), Philadelphia University (PA, D-II), Stockton College (NJ, D-III), Cabrini College (PA, D-III), North Carolina Wesleyan (NC, D-III), DeSales University (PA, D-III), among many others. The list of participating colleges is subject to change. The club plans to have more than 25 NCAA programs represented.

The inaugural event is planned for Friday, June 3rd, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and will be held at the Middle Township High School in Cape May Court House, NJ.

The event is open to any interested players throughout the area. All interested players will need to pre-register via the Cape express website (

Space is limited. Once the combine reaches capacity, no more registrations will be accepted.

Quote from Charlie Duccilli, Cape Express Director of Coaching and former Division I Head Coach: “As a former College Head Coach, from a recruiting standpoint it always makes sense to attend an event like this held where coaches will have the opportunity to observe and evaluate many good players from several different programs at one site.  Since our players will be rising Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors, it's the perfect mix of talent for the next 3 years of recruiting for the College Coaches.”

Quote from Jim Farrell, President of CESC: “The Cape Express Soccer Club has made a focused, concerted effort over the last several years to advance our players to the highest level that they wish to achieve. This College Showcase event is a demonstration of that renewed focus. For years we’ve been helping players reach the collegiate level. Thanks to that success and the networking of our Director of Coaching Charlie Duccilli, himself a former Division I Head Coach, we’ve built incredibly positive relationships with a large number of collegiate programs throughout the Mid-Atlantic region, and now our players are benefiting from those relationships.”
